More seriously... yikes
Down in Axminster, so not far from you. Clouds are bubbling up fast. Kids are booked in for 'go-ape' type activity this afternoon...

Current weather is impossible to forecast accurately, and phone apps will fail badly. Reason is the heavy showers are hit or miss.

Good news is we have a better handle on the weekend. Bad news is low pressure brings autumnal weather with Friday probably the low over us, windier and wetter. Not good for outside projects.

New turf has finally gone down today - it's chucking it down with rain and forecast is awful.

Happy Puggit.

Plenty of action moving up the A303 from the SW as well. Just hitting us.

That got here quick, just starting in East Berks. A bonus would be at least one pop or crackle of thunder.
We had enough to upset the dog frown

Turf is loving the sunshine and showers.

There are signals that August will improve. And that is it.

No heatwave modelled.

There may be room for increasing optimism of the end of this dirge. Shame, lawn is coming on fast hehe

Today is “changeable”.
Have I mentioned how well the turf is doing?

SE becomes drier as of tomorrow. Changeble remains the further NW you go.

Deep low pressure NW of Scotland - so you cannot rule out rain, whatever the app says.

Entering a period of 'no mans land' - so further South should be 'ok'. Looking ahead, there are signs that high pressure might return - but it is not guaranteed.

I am wearing a long sleeve tshirt for the first time in many weeks frown

Looks like a battleground scenario opening up - high pressure likely to be nearby, but we won't know if it's on top of us, or more likely low pressure will be knocking on the door and bouncing off.

Whilst it has been a lovely Summer overall, so far, there has been a real lack of thunder. Is that battleground likely to produce any?

Small area of high pressure sitting to the north of the UK, so winds will be gentle and coming in off the sea. Bringing grey dry weather.

We're off to Cardigan Bay for the Bank Holiday. Maybe we'll see sun there as we're miles from the east coast.

To be honest I'm at my dad's in Suffolk and haven't been paying attention.

Looks like a front tomorrow causing some stormy hiccups before high pressure starts appearing.

No heat wave forecast, but mainly dry
