Absolutely! That is my favourite modern building anywhere. Superb!

The old TWA terminal at JFK, now a hotel.
Wow.

How did I not know about this?!

I'm going to be incredibly crass and name drop but it is sort of linked to yesterday's posts. This is a bridge we commissioned Gehry to design about 15 years ago with schlaich bergermann who were utterly amazing to work with and more German than you ever thought is was possible to stereotype biggrin

I always liked Gehry's Fred and Ginger. Not his most subtle piece biggrin

Agreed. We went to NY about 18 months ago and seeing the Chrysler building was high on my list of things to do.

My journey up the A1 is always brightened by this building at Markham Moor. Originally a petrol station, it now has a Starbucks wedged underneath, but not in a way that compromises the structural integrity of the wonderful roof. From 1960. This is how it originally looked.

this really is a stunning building inside and out. well worth a visit, just not for it's intended purpose as the 'museum' really is a load of crap

When this building was first posted it was 2011 I had a view of the building from my apartment. I then had a house built in the suburbs which I subsequently sold and moved to another house.

I went to NYC recently and saw the boarded up 5th Avenue because of the fears Trump supporters would riot. They left the boards up because the stores remained closed or open but protected.

I’ve always liked the Lippo Centre in HK.

Hard to find a photo that does it justice though.

I know it's old but for me it will always be Lincoln Cathedral, it is magnificent, you can see it for miles, it is a beacon of what used to be and might one day again be home.

I love it and always will.

Well this building isn't anywhere as grand as some that have been posted, but it's one of my favourites, the Malraux in Le Havre. Home to the biggest collection of French impressionist art outside of the Orsay.

the blinds diffuse the light beautifully

and this is just around the corner

a cool nod to the city's maritime heritage.[url]

Apologies for crappy Thumbsnap images

From a bygone era: St Pancras

and Royal Holloway College, Egham

Both stupendously elaborate Victorian epics.

I saw a YouTube video of someone driving through Manhattan with everything boarded up. It was sureal, like something out of a movie.

I love Zaha Hadid building and her wider work too

This building took my breath away in Hiroshima. Pretty solid given the bits still standing were very very close to where the A bomb was dropped by the Americans.

Lucky enough to have been on a walk up and down that - fabulous, with great views over the train yard (which I think is being redeveloped now?) Amazing thing.

Always loved the signature Egyptian details on the Deco style of the Queensway Tunnel in Liverpool.
This is an office block combined with one of the ventilation towers.

High line park now reaches Hudson Yards. It’s still a great walk from there to meat packing and worth doing. For those not familiar, it follows the old elevated train lines used to move products between buildings. At the Meatpacking end is Chelsea Markets where you can get some great food. I often get oysters from the fish market.
