I fenced competitively for years and got pretty good results at a national level. As such, I'm well qualified to lethally force a blade into a man's heart, eye, or any organ you can name.
I don't say this to sound like I'm a goddamn assassin with an epee or anything, but honestly, if you put me in Alexandre Dumas' France, I would be like a fking God to those people. D'sastrous and the 3 Musketeers. Obviously I'd need my breeches and a properly qualified President to referee, but apart from that, I'd straight up kill everyone.
Not humble-bragging at all though, you feel me?

I want to be the one who was always on the piss, tanning back horse troughs full of mead and brawling with guards that spilled his pint and punching out horses and that. Athos was it? It was mixed up from the book...he was a Great Dane I think?

Since the advent of the UFC and MMA all this conversation is/should be redundant, we do know what happens when men fight in their underpants with very few rules now, it's not a mystery anymore, there's very little to really talk about, the evidence has been provided.
Wrong, many of Wing Chun's moves are banned in UFC, MMA. Stomp kick to knee (possibly a crippling kick), eye gouge (possibly blinding), throat jab (possibly killing). Troubleatmill said:

Last word on this from me:

Steve Morris, proper karate master, now MMA coach, probably still a psychopath. I really want but also really don't want to train with him.

There is really no such thing as aikido te

Probably this guy (from the website)
This is the issue. Like I said I have been practicing all sorts of martial arts for many years but the thought of posing for a picture like that would never even cross my mind. The claims of Zen philosophy and warrior spirit juxtaposed with those image are I'm afraid simply funny - that's what makes people laugh.
You and Fred Clogs both seemingly did martial arts a lot.
Everyone is laughing at you.
Nobody is laughing at Fred.
Just read your posts and just try and work out the difference. Until you are able to do that you will never get a girlfriend.

That's comforting for Fred but doesn't alter reality in that Aikido Te has been around for decades even though it doesn't exist.blindswelledrat said:

Mrs TB will be pleased to hear that.If lots of PHers approve of your brand of charm as demonstrated above then you're truly the lucky one.
Judging by PH meets, rolling road events etc quite a few PHers won't have long to wait until they/we can use pension statements to inflict a nasty paper cut, they really sting! No arteries involved, phew.

The old days of the UFC or Pride fights were as close to real street fighting as you're going to get in a sport setting and guess what - the guys who dominated events were not doing Kung Fu. And you might find some Brazillian "Vale Tudo" stuff from back in the day on YouTube that is genuinely no rules and again, they're not doing Bruce Lee stuff.
Don't forget if you're allowed to groin kick, snap fingers off, insert fingers in and elbow guys in the back of the neck then so are they. You don't need to study Kung Fu for 30 years to pull someones pinkies off or gouge their eyes out but if you are that guy then there are places you should be other than on a sporting pedestal.

I think if you stick with it for longer you'd probably work out a strategy. Grappling on the ground is about figuring what the guy is trying to do or applying a counter to what he's already done.
I had a strategy.....punch them in the face every time they tried to get a grip of me....seriously though....not my bag....I just wasn't interested enough in the art to care...whereas boxing took over my combat art needs 23 years ago and has remained a constant since....you should see my memorabilia collection!!!....I fkin love it??AstonZagato said:
