That big lump of London sized heavy is making its way over the channel and has moved from the Channel Islands and is now about halfway over the water. Still not producing any lightning though.

I don't think there is enough of a temperature contrast to spark things off. However if you look over to North East France, it is in the mid to high 20's, which if it were to meet out high teens temps could spark things off, doubt the wind will change though to allow this.

This never fails to impress

Fingers crossed for later!

That big lump is certainly Berkshire bound, but as before - no fireworks.

I suspect the most thunder activity will be overnight <yawn>

That lump isn't what it once was now but indeed it is on its way to Berks, it currently spanning between Winchester and Petersfield.

A big fat nope for lightning and I want a refund!

Still fingers crossed for later.

Pissing it down in MK. Caught me out on my commute. Had no rain jacket and got soaked. No thunder or lightning. We hardly ever seem to get thunder in MK

And the rest of us are going to get sweet fa. Sad times.

The night is so muggy, I had such high hopes.

It's kicking off big time just to the south east of Maidstone.

Quite close, and almost continuous flashing and rumbling! smile

Update: It's getting quite loud now! biggrin

Yep, it's like the paparazzi are out there, a flash a second or so, a constant low rumble, and no rain at all. Centre of Maidstone looking north east.

Some of us are trying to get to sleep, not having much luck with this light show hehe

I was literally just typing that it had been quite short but sweet, and there was a bright flash and a whopper of a thunder! biggrin
