The Germans have the best term for an ambulance though - Krankenwagen I believe.
True - literal translation is sick-wagon.

Sick sister (Krankenschwester) is nurse.
Sick house (Krankenhaus) is hospital.
Milk house (Milchhaus) is dairy.
Rat house (Rathaus) is Town Hall, oddly enough ;->

Breast warts (Brustwarten) are nipples.
Hand shoes (Handschuhen) are gloves.
Tooth doctor (Zahnarzt) is dentist.

It would appear that where English tends to have a word
for it, the Germans make something up from words lying around.

I only learned last week that

Sequins week (Flitterwoche) is honeymoon.
Nothing beats the German words for constipation and diarhorrea:

Constipation - Stopfung.

Diarhorrea - Durchfall (literally, through-fall)

the word Ambulance stems from the Latin "Ambulo" meaning "To Walk".
