I lament your loss. But have you accidentally revealed a rather clandestine modification of the spoon itself?
Not at all.The bowl "mods" are the result of my making progress with a hot morning beverage and a bout of lift off overstir causing the spoon to collide with an unfortunately placed caddy of "Lively and refreshing" Waitrose Kenya leaf tea, then doing a full 360 into a KitchenAid Artisan kettle.
Harumph!

Then, 600000 litres of water stolen from charity wells in Africa is poured on to each spoon to ensure water resistance.
This is the reason that some call them "blood spoons." I certainly wouldn't want to stir in public with one.Shakermaker said:
People keep this in boxes, they cost £18,000 each. But I just bung it in the dishwasher just because I can.
Hardly making stirring available to the masses isn't it? Rather crass, if you ask me.55palfers said:

Is this not remarkably similar to the excuse, sorry... explanation, you gave at the 1995 Dumfries open? I didn't buy it then and I don't buy it now!/soapbox
if they're targeting gravy spoons it can only be a matter of time before they cotton on to the value of teaspoon collections

On the subject of new teaspoons.....
I genuinely need to order a large number for our new office (200+) and I'm amazed at how expensive they are!
I was Google bashing earlier expecting to get a basic "contract" teaspoon for pennies.
Shirley there must be a factory in China churning them out at 10 pence/dozen?
Go forth oh great PH members, find me cheap spoons......
Please.![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)

Good grief, man! How can you expect your workers to stir their tea with those things! Just imagine the splashing and chaos that'll be caused. The best I can find so far is this:

Have a word with yourself and get them something they don't have to be embarrassed to use with their Earl Grey.

I work with scoundrels who leave spoons like this...

They deserve the worst.
People asking above about value, you're roughly right...but it isn't the value that keeps me to it. It gets regular use but is kept to a high standard being rather temperamental as you'd expect.
I can see why someone would rather baby it but it needs use to prevent degradation for its' primary use

It's a copy, one of my colleagues bought it in a 'spoon dealer' in Lithuania when he was 'hunting dragons' ![rolleyes](/inc/images/rolleyes.gif)
Indeed, the right spoon appears to still have some of the brown liquor left over.
So many depths sunk to...
