Went and carried out salvage today for our Scout Group after Reading Festival. Wife and I managed an hour out there before we had to give in to the heat.

Collected 23 chairs and 9 tents smile

Storms tonight in the far SW - more widespread and possibly severe over the east tomorrow.

Final scorcher, then it turns pleasant!

Oooo, I know where that is and would love to go. Are you a member or did you go in one of the public / riff-raff sessions?
We bought some packages last time they had a crazy sale. Kids are with in-laws in Devon - time to adult!

First fallen snow visible on the Cairngorm webcam hehe

As for Sept. Dorian looks like it will spare Florida the worst and rebound off the eastern seaboard.

This could well bring warm weather for us as it passes by and drags up equatorial heat with it. Certainly not a forecast.

Yep - with the northerly aspect to the air flow, it's that difficult weather where you need layers in the morning, but then you'll be carrying them home wink

There's some northerly aspect to the wind, and little cloud cover. Oxfordshire dipped to only 4 degrees last night. Aberdeenshire had a frost!

Lots of agreement on where Dorian will end up. Of course, as always, it will no longer be a hurricane, and no where near hurricane strength.

Good signs of a return to something summery by next weekend. Only fly in the ointment will be high pressure with a northerly wind...

Any ideas on temperature on Saturday - East Anglia way please? Got a slightly terrifying wedding cake going out and hoping that whilst it’s nice it’s not going to be too hot... eek
Very difficult forecast. The remains of Dorian and Gabrielle will be hard to nail.

Really don't expect high temps though.

Looks like we'll be heading in to the best period of settled weather of the year now. Go figure.

No end in sight to high pressure smile

That means warm, and then cold. right? smile

Maybe the Sun were on to something...
Interestingly the Alps have received early snow - now, that isn't unheard of in September (far from it). But in recent years it's been rare.

The snow covered mountains help the continent to cool down. Even more important if Scandinavia gets snow (for us, anyway).

Interesting that as we start to cool down again, the high pressure which was never far away (but rarely in the right place) last winter starts to return. There may be a pattern forming.

Today is really warm! Went to walk the dog at lunch and was clearly overdressed.

23 degrees when I got home!

Had a call with a South African colleague. It was the same temp in his pool irked

25 possible in the South/SE towards the end of next week.

Most likely to get Atlantic weather after that cry There is quite a lot of cold in southern Canada, and that could fire up the jet stream.

Next weekends looking lovely, sunny and 20c plus. Ideal for the beer festival.
Our village beer festival is the following weekend. We've lived here 3 years and haven't enjoyed a decent weekend of weather yet. Looks like that pattern will continue.

Enjoy this week, especially next Saturday - Atlantic is gearing up...

Sat outside a cafe all morning (working!). Suspect I may be slightly burnt hehe

Keeping an eye on the breakdown on Sunday and beyond. Tentative signs the far south may cling on to some better weather for a while longer. Depends on how far NE the Azores High stretches.
