Had both, enjoyed both, would buy again.
As would I, well my wife has had both, and I’d buy her another Fiat or Peugeot if she wanted one.
On the subject in hand, good advice, my primary school headmaster said,
“If you want to learn, read and ask questions.”

If someone asks you to do a job for them and tells you that it'll only take you five minutes...rest assured, it will not take you five minutes. It will take you two days. Tell them to eff off and do it themselves.

That would be my take on it........... however, I do it because I like the noises my car makes on a closed throttle!
I do it because I like to keep my H&T game strong. biggrin

As mentioned though, outdated and unnecessary.
I used to argue for changing down through the gears, but then it was pointed out that if you find yourself rushing to select a gear to pull away after braking it just means your observation is st.

As for advice:

If she's not rich make sure she can cook.

Don't buy French or Fiat.

There's no such thing as fighting dirty. If someone's trying to hurt you, aim for the soft bits.
When you go to punch someone in the nose aim for the back of the head. That way your fist is still accelerating as you hit their nose and does some proper damage. If you just aim for the nose, you nesh out and your hand decelerates before contact.

If you need to bury a body, dig a vertical grave, not a horizontal one. Leaves a lot less disturbed ground and it is much harder to find a body buried vertically.

Threesomes are never worth it in the long run.

And I suspect many will reflect on this when the lockdown is over.

Or quote them £10 per five minutes?

The last person I heard saying that was Lady Miss Kier (Dee Lite).

It's true though.

Engine braking is far more efficient I can't imagine why on earth you would coast in neutral. Less control over the car?
I to am of the era where I go down the gears to slow the car then brake at the end if need be. I was told now you are told to brake and not go down the gears, so possibly some are told to put it in neutral. The reason being, if you go down the gears without touching the brakes the car behind has no indication your slowing down as the brake lights don’t come on. Well I’ve been doing it for 20 years and no one has gone into the back of me yet!
yes
An indication you are slowing is if they notice you are closer to them (the car behind you) when they haven't changed their speed - Or is it only me that doesn't rely fully on brake lights?

I think this is typical of being middle aged, we think we're a bit smarter than our parents, but can learn nothing from our children. It's a mindset I try to fight against. Since my sons learnt to drive, and both were taught by different instructors that gears are to go, brakes are to stop, I took it on board and it is indeed a better way to drive, imho.
It stems from the days when cars had drum brakes so needed engine braking to help stop them fading.

Gears to go brakes to slow is an advanced techniques taught by rospa/iam/police.

You don't need to coast in neutral or with the clutch disengaged, you would just remain in gear (say 4th) until the last minute then dip the clutch as you come to a halt. Of course, you should be continually evaluating the situation and if things change you simply select the appropriate gear and carry on.

It's called acceleration sense. It's not particularly difficult although you could be forgiven for thinking otherwise going by how most of the population seem to drive.
Reminds me of a work colleague many years ago who was doing a short 'driving training' course. the instructor said "you keep a good distance from the car in front - much better than most pupils". Colleague replied "that's because the brakes on my triumph Herald are crap"
