I was going to do the same, but my boss at the time wouldn't let me. Some guff about the national interest.

Shame, I thought 'EchelonAdmin' had a ring to it.

Yes - shows my age smile

Having said that we've still quite a few mainframes although I no longer use them.

Makes sense. I always assumed your username was because you sucked like a Garrett T34

The year - 1988 onwards.

Big blue ones when everything was blue, then we got rid of the IBM disk drives and put in Amdahl disk drives (nice shade of orange/red) , then the CPU's also went to Amdahl. There was also some Cray's there that I occasionally used. I've got the exact models somewhere in the annual reports (in the loft / office) if you really need to know.

I find mainframe stuff very interesting as I missed all that stuff and just worked with early PC stuff Apple ][s and a lot of early 80s UCSD compatable machines.

Really wish I went the mainframe route as it seemed an fascinating world - As for Cray he is a kind of hero to me (sad I know) and wanted to get into the collection stuff but only have a cray mug+lanyard frown

Did have a DEC minicomputer to play with for a while. Cost £5 from the local auction.

back to the topic, name is Richard and I'm a Petrolhead, so Petrolhead_Rich

Simples...

"Turbolucy" with the supercharger, that makes no sense, try:
SuperLucy
LucyCharged
SuperchargedLucy

Turbo doesn't come into it, unless you use the excuse you used to have a turbocharged car, or, more likely, you thought it was turbocharged then found out later it was supercharged, or you didn't know the difference....
