Most of the runners in the club I run with use Chest Lamps (like a bandolier with a light at the front and lights at the back).

I will ask when I speak to him tonight, but he’s a stickler in his ways about things so I’d think it has to be the head lamp rather than the chest.
He’s also got spare ring doorbell on his Christmas list…. He’s insanely practical biggrin

Personally I hate those chest lamps, they give me motion sickness the way the light bounces about.
The head lamp you linked earlier has a very minimalistic strap that might not be that comfortable for running as a more traditional thicker band.

As other said it depends where they're running. I have an older Petzl Tikka Plus which is nowhere near as bright as my wife's Silva Trail Runner, but is fine for paved paths, I'd want something a bit brighter for wooded trails though.

Right, definitely wants a head one, no preference on strap size and does mostly run roads and paths so all sorted.

General frivolity can resume, though I do love a good torch myself biggrin

These are more stocking fillers, pair of them are mostly having money as they've just bought a house so as much as I love him dearly I'm not spending £90 biggrin
He's a keen park runner but mostly runs the redways around Milton Keynes and I think a few lake runs etc but predominantly roads. I was looking at this one:

But is there a great deal of difference to this one?

Ah - apologies - those were *slight* overkill, but perfect for this thread hehe

Definitely far more knowledgable / experienced folk than me on the running thread, so that was a great steer. Glad you’ve come right thumbup

No no, overkill is good generally, and if they didn't want a new kitchen I'd probably have gone overkill but they've realised this home ownership lark is a pricey job biggrin
I am far from a runner, and the only time I've ever used a head torch is a cheap one I found in him indoors toolbox for when working on stuff in the garage so I appreciate all the input.

New salt and pepper grinders. I don’t need them and they were stupidly expensive…but I always coveted the ‘Spong’ ones when I was a kid and these are a very close modern approximation.

Reassuringly solid and heavy (cast iron).

For reference, these are the Spong ones that I was looking to find a modern version of (not mine, photo from EBay):

Robert Welch also used to make something similar:

I've started wanting a Nintendo Switch. I rarely game, I have a good home PC but as a bit of a geek that's mainly used for programming and cybersecurity work.

I also WFH so there's no argument that I could use it for a commute.

I watched a few YouTube videos and as you know, this then means you get tons of similar videos suggested which further fuels my urge to get one.

I'm trying to resist at the moment
Go for the Steam deck OLED, can stream from PC, Xbox and PS5 and lots of fun stuff to setup as it's just a mini Linux machine under the hood.

Accidental purchase is accidental.

(TBF, was notably discounted).

Will match well with the SF2 and MK cabinet. Will be a nice trio.

Don't think it will be long before him indoors buys one. He's spent most of the weekend putting other tables on the pinball machine he's got...

Anyone have a recommendation for a turntable? Hankering for Vinyl again. Not too frivolous as I'll probably get bored with it and I'm only plugging in to the back of the Yamaha surround Amp so sound wont be stellar enough to warrant a fortune on a direct drive etc. Sub £100

sub £100 may be a little difficult (and probably not worth the effort) but...
