sub £100 may be a little difficult (and probably not worth the effort) but...

I’d been looking at the Denon on there about an hour ago weirdly. Plan is start cheap and cheerful and if I do actually stick to it rather than shouting ‘Alexa play Ratt’ or whatever like I do now , then invest in something a bit fancier further down the line. https://www.richersounds.com/hi-fi/hi-fi-separates...
In reality I suspect my rose tinted glasses are firmly on as I’m fondly remembering trips back from town clutching my prizes I’d spent my pocket money on rather than the annoying clicks, skips and interference.

back in the day when I first heard a cd it was a revalation: no hiss; snap; crackle; pop; skipping; etc... I loved it. It's weird - today I find myself enjoying those very things I hated then (though I still hate the skipping )
That's kind what I'm hoping for, that i'll enjoy the nostalgia. There are still songs I listen to today that come on my Spotify playlist but my brain defaults to the skip in the record when I listen to it The price of newer vinyl is expensive but I seem to have found a lot of the albums i'm looking for around a tenner secondhand and excellent condition. Embarrassingly I gave my entire original record collection to the charity shop. Oh to get that back now.

Accidental purchase is accidental.
(TBF, was notably discounted).
Will match well with the SF2 and MK cabinet. Will be a nice trio.
Anyone have a recommendation
It was only the case of lack of local stock in Smyths that meant I didn't buy one when they dropped the prices. I don't even like pinball that much...but it looked so cool.
As I said, I think I'll be happy with my trio. Current pair:
GAME seem to be the cheapest supplier for Arcade1up machines but worth keeping an eye on prices as they can fluctuate quite a bit.
This Marvel Capcom machine is typically £499, so when it came up at £299, had to go for it.

Yes, he's put a few other tables on there, some better than others. Any of the Arcade 1Up tables play rather well, so all the Marvel etc but I'm personally not too keen on other ones which is a shame as I'd got great hopes for The Aadams Family etc but its good to have a bigger choice. It was only the case of lack of local stock in Smyths that meant I didn't buy one when they dropped the prices. I think I've figured a way of reconfiguring the Star Wars room to fit in an upright cab so I need to have look over the holidays.
I look at your many wonderful purchases and whilst I don’t wish to be rude many of your buys are things you very much wanted therefore not “frivolous “ as per the title.
Today I was at the Adidas outlet in Gloucester and I spotted a pair of Superstar Shell toe trainers which were there 4 weeks ago. For information and in the interest of full disclosure I have Uk size 11 feet. I know nobody with feet bigger than a size 12 but purely for comedy value and the princely sum of £10 I purchased these clown shoes. Size uk 18.
Anybody who knows anyone who might like them let me know and they can have them.
I think I can claim the frivolous purchase title.

Awesome. When my kids were at primary school an acquaintance came round for the first time. 6'6" and size 15 feet. Left his trainers by the front door and the "Whoa!" when the kids came in has become family folklore.

My wife says I’m not frivolous merely stupid however we should stick them by the front door to deter anyone thinking of nicking our LR Defender.
When you smuggle a gallon of wine and 500 Es in them into your next festival, the rather large shoe will be on the other foot! ETA... Or write on the toe box:
Yes... Yes it is in proportion.

He has a hell of time finding shoes....they do look comedic next to "normal" sizes.
I worked with a guy who had enormous feet, maybe not 18s(!) but certainly 16 or something. He basically bought two kinds of shoe;
1) expensive custom ones from places that make shoes specially for freakishly large feet (work shoes and the like), and
2) whatever was basically being given away for pennies in Sports Direct, Deichmann, Brantano etc. that fitted him.
Because of 2) he wore some very weird shoes! Dayglo British Knights basketball boots? Sure. Blue tasseled moccasins? No problem. Multicoloured patent crocodile-skin brogues? Why the hell not.

I picked up the black one to add to my other two. You won't be disappointed they are excellent little things and a great company. https://bagherashop.com/en/products/silver-race-ca...
This one is exquisite https://bagherashop.com/en/products/racing-car-aut...
this is nice as well. https://bagherashop.com/en/products/racing-car-gre...
I'd seen the playforever ones before, but never heard of these Baghera, but looking at them they look marginally better value than the playforevers. The first one above, I have is 8inches 200mm long which puts them in the £40+ bigger bracket of the Playforevers, the auto union is 210mm, and the third is slightly smaller at 180mm

Shudder, thats giving me anxiety just looking at it, jumping between Basic on a Commadore Pet to trying to programme on this keyboard gives me hives even now.Horrible pointless incomprehensible unnecessary 'shortcuts'. Pressing 3 buttons at once to type a command word 4 characters long. It reminds me of the early punch card machines I used to use at Uni - what a comedown from Commadore PET to punch cards
