I don't fancy being compacted!!! frown

550man, I have absolutely no idea where I'm going to be tomorrow, we have a major slump in our order books for the next couple of months, part of the reason I've been moved back to the semi manual machines is that that is my background and I'm one of only three people who can program them, plus tha fact that the decision has been made to get rid of one of the older machines which runs on an older version of the software we're using, which means that 400+ jobs need to be reprogrammed on the newer software for the existing machines!!!!

Are you a machinist/machine operator Bobberoo?
I am indeed, for my sins, normally to be found loitering in front of a five axis machining centre pretending I understand what's going on!!!

Thanks for the explanation Bobbers.

I had gathered from perusing these pages before I dipped my toe (honest it was a toe) in here that you had, what I understood to be, a technical aerospace engineering/manufacturing background.

I can well imagine it has been a pretty challenging period for you in that industry. Hopefully things are looking up in the medium/long term.
Yes 550man we've taken a hell of a pasting, it's pretty flat out there for the aerospace industry at present, we are however promised that things will improve later in the year/early next year, we just need to get through the present slump.

A broadly accurate description there glenrobbo!!!

I've just forced myself to watch some of the cringeworthy out right lying bullst pouring out of Dominic Cummings mouth, he's a typical spin doctor blaming everyone around him!!!

More than welcome we could fit ten people in at a squeeze.
Or thirty if we use the compactor?
I have a compactor at work but not very sure it would fit in the ROC post that would be a mash up,
We have a cardboard compactor too, it's bloody huge!!!

You've no idea.......why there's a train track at the bottom of your garden?
Context is everything old chap, we can send out a search party if you think it will help!!!

It didn't taste of wine gums Dicky, I feel depraved!!! frown

550man that scored a creditable 8.976 on the old Triv-o-meter, now rebuilt with a suspension spring from a 1978 ERF truck instead of the previous puny Ford Transit return rebound isolation spring we were using!!! smile

Semi organised chaos, with smatterings of logic, interspersed with out right lunacy!!!!
No I'm not talking about Trivial Towers for once, I'm talking about the machine moves and reorganisation of parts of the machine shop this morning!!!

So Battert's messing around with his Matter Transfer Beam again is he? He does remember that the last time he got close to getting it working he managed to move the contents of the small barn into the library, a room about half the size of the barn!?!?!

And thanks for the congratulations chaps, 23,000,000,000,000,000,000,002 posts is a good effort!!! bowtie

I have news on the impending Volume change, in line with the present government guidelines of hands, face, space, mace, in case, sterilisation, castration, generalisation, we have decided that Volume 36 needs a deep clean and so have arranged a choice of three methods of Volume swap transportation,
Choice 1 is Dicky's suggestion of a gang plank,
Choice 2 is trusting Battert's Matter Transfer Beam
Choice 3 is taking a running jump from the West Wing corridor out through the window overlooking the front lawn.
Please submit your choices in triplicate to the usual address care of his Srumptiousnessessessess!!!

Do the Trivial massive think we can pull it off??? Pequod has proven himself quite adept at the old Trance-endental meditation, he could lead the Ooohhhhhmmming and direct us through the power of mind altering thought control!!!

By the way PB, Roxy's lovely, even with an odd number of appendages!!! smile

Slopes you're just mean!!! Fancy threatening to use the residents choosing option 3 as moving target practice!!! eek

I used to like riding the tea cup ride, right up until the man threw me off off for throwing up on the family in the next tea cup, it's not my fault they span mine faster than everyone else's, it had nothing whatsoever to do with the 14 pints of Stella I'd drunk beforehand!!! nono
