The law is the law is the law...unless you’re a ‘traveller’, in which case do whatever you want, we won’t stop you http://www.readingchronicle.co.uk/news/around/1624...Schoolchildren_kept_inside_after_air_rifle_totingtraveller_waved_weapon_at_youngsters_/

Loads of them round here at the moment. I live within a few miles of that school. It is, beyond, a joke.http://www.readingchronicle.co.uk/news/around/1624...Schoolchildren_kept_inside_after_air_rifle_totingtraveller_waved_weapon_at_youngsters_/

Quick question, I tried searching. Briefly, but couldn't find it.
Whats the law, or proposed UK law, that Ireland already has that prevents them from doing this in Ireland?
"One doesn't st in ones own backyard". Although judging by below video, it's not necessarily 100% true.Whats the law, or proposed UK law, that Ireland already has that prevents them from doing this in Ireland?

What I'm trying to find is the case where the Irish travellers funded the Roma human rights fight.

Here's an idea. Let's use the power of PistonHeads to do some good in this world.
I think we all agree that the kind of behaviour demonstrated by "travellers", is not acceptable.
I think we all agree that if we "Make entering and occupying land without consent a criminal offence", as per the link above. It will put an end to a lot of this, or at least give police powers to do something about it. A lot more quickly.
Let's see if we can get this discussed in parliament. To get a response, we need 10,000 signatures.
To start a petition, I need 5 supporters email addresses.
Can 5 people PM me your email, first and last name? Lets do somthing to change this, rather than just bhing about it.

This is a great idea but you will need to be very careful with your wording of said petition! Did the Irish legislation pre-date the time so-called "travellers" became a protected "race" ?
It is worded very carefully.PM me your email and you can see it. If you agree then sign it.
Once it has 5 signatures it can "go live"

Think this is already happening. according to our local Tory MP (James Heappey) Here's an idea. Let's use the power of PistonHeads to do some good in this world.

Welcome news indeed, but this is just trying to speed up the existing court process. making it a criminal offence is immediate and means police can arrest without a warrant, remove, store and dispose of objects and issue penalties and proceedings. Rather than move them on to the green down the road for the process to start over again.http://www.burnhamandhighbridgeweeklynews.co.uk/ne...

The weapon was removed by the parents of the child and taken to another address'.http://www.readingchronicle.co.uk/news/around/1624...Schoolchildren_kept_inside_after_air_rifle_totingtraveller_waved_weapon_at_youngsters_/
Taken to another address? What the caravan next door?

Well, if you type 'Joseph Isaacs' in to Google, the autocomplete does help. And there are some lovely news articles about some misunderstood people who happen to have the same name and come from Somerset. Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
