Really really want a PH zippo but perhaps a different colour rather than stainless steel though.

Just found that on eBay.. it's tempting, very tempting - might be too rich for my blood though given it's still got a day to go
Roughly the same price as a new one at the moment, may have a punt tomorrow.
It's on £17 at the moment, I paid around £85 for it 2 years ago. 21 watchers though if you want insider knowledge :haha:

It's my first zippo and barely used, the finish isn't great now, seems to have scuffed up easily (shown in photos on there). Don't know if that is a common thing or not. It's much nicer than the other 2 pacman 30th anniversary designs (in my opinion), yet I couldn't find an individual photo of mine on the net. If it sells well I could probably get another one when I go back to Japan later, just need the money now.

Stupid question. Can I use unleaded petrol?
Certainly can, and it is a damn sight cheaper than the fluid. I imagine it is what all the 'nam ones pictured previously would have been run on too.
Very sooty though.

My brother recently got a JD zippo which grabbed my attention.

Bought one of these about 10 years ago on a school trip:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ZIPPO-JAMES-BOND-007-TOM...

Parents relieved me of it as I couldn't be trusted..! Will have to ask them where they hid it!

Fancy collecting a few so have bought a spectrum and download fest version. Also looking at a couple on the bay.

That one is really cool, seems to be one of the newer shaped ones?

When you say spectrum do you mean the brass spectrum one? I have one too, bit scared of taking it out in case I mark it though spin

excuse the crap pics but here's mine, front and back:

as with all vietnam lighters there's no way of proving it is genuine but in it's favour is that this is the only one i've seen with the same design [though the 'no hope...' is derivative] and the case and interior are period correct, with fantastic patina.

the original interior parts were knackered so it has a later one whic hdoesn;t quite fit. the hinge is also getting quite loose as i've had it about 14yrs and used to do the old lighting it on your jeans thing when i was younger. i wonder if there's somewhere who could fit a period inner and give it a bit of TLC for me?

ps - like the 'day of the dead' one posted earlier, might have to buy one of those.

Zippo themselves will do it if you send it back with a letter explaining what you want. From what I have heard they can be very accommodating when it comes.to keeping their old products going. Just make sure you outline what you want when you send the shell to them, plus some contact details

Ah, fluid it is then. Plus I also seem to be looking at eBay.

Not sure if it was someone off here who was selling the ph zippo on eBay, but I withdrew my high bid as a zero rated user bid then immediately withdrew their bid three times on the trot - looked like someone was trying to drive up the price if you ask me.

It went for a few quid in the end to 'the lucky bidder'.

Item 261075624788 if you want to check it out.

Picked up another 'ice black' on amazon, quite cheap!

I've got one of those, I really like it but I'm a little scared to use it too much incase I scratch it. I generally carry either my orange matte one or the white one day to day

Haha, I don't smoke but figure that collecting Zippos is cheaper than collecting G Shocks..!

Really like the look of the Day of the Dead yellow.

You know, I never did understand the fascination some people have with these G Shock watches confused

Now Zippos, they are much better cool

Yep PH had them done, about 5 years or so ago I guess, I have one in new condition. smile

I have others as well but the only one that I have ever used is the spectrum, it was in nice condition till I lent it to a mate on a night out, he dropped it twice and its now pretty dented.
