Here's mine. Had it 30 odd years: haven't seen the leather case for a few years - I'm hoping it will emerge during a spring clean smile

No way - mine just arrived!

I've heard most are stiff and need a fair bit of working to loosen up - this is as slick as anything. It's a lovely lovely piece of kit and I was sad enough to get my name engraved on it (for some reason it made it £5 cheaper compared to not having anything!)

Looks good, different case to mine, I actually like both versions though!

Yes mine is also as slick as anything too, they are wonderful tools, and so universally useful!

Original PST, bought for me by my wife when we'd only been going out about 6 months. I was off to do primitive IT tasks (read cabling, installing hardware and joining it all up) in Africa for 18 months while she went off to Uni.
Since then I have worn it every day (going on 13 years now), and it never ceases to be useful. Only slight bit of damage is the thinnest screwdriver blade has cracked, but nothing I shouldn't be able to dremel straight again when I remember.

Every six months or so I soak it in degreaser, then put it through the dishwasher. When it comes out it's oiled back up very lightly with 3-in-1 on a cotton bud.

I feel naked without it, I have to say. I even wore it on my belt at our wedding!

Did anyone ask you as to why you had a multi tool on your person on your wedding day. And did you get to use it, ie cut the cake.
It's nice to hear that people use there tools rather than just chuck them

Anyone with a Charge; is it worth getting the additional bit kit? It comes with a number (8 I think?) of bits and I don't want to double up. Also aware that the additional set needs it's own carry case!

I'll get the bit extender though.

Anyone recommend a pouch for a Charge TTI? Would quite like a leather one.

Most of my friends just know that it's always there. For some reason no-one ever has a bottle opener except me!

I use my teeth. Unless it's a wine bottle; where's the corkscrew on a Charge?!

The bit kit I bought for my Charge has 2 plastic holder strips with 9 double-ended bits in each plus one double ended mini bit.

It came with a nylon pouch.

The bit extender is bloody useful.

I have never really got on with the Charge leather pouch because the sides are made from elastic and are not wearing well. The all-leather pouch that my old Wave came in was far better. I've thought about paying a leather-shop to replace the elastic sides with leather - it irritates me that much.

Also there's no way you can put both of the additional bit strips into the "secret" folder in the back of the Charge pouch and still do up the popper on the front.

And finally - I would prefer to have the Charge horizontally on my belt, rather than vertically. Again, not possible with the current loops on the back and my predilection for wide belts.

Cheers; I just don't want but buy bits I already have!

Mine came with the nylon pouch which appears to be far more useful than the leather one; the leather one I had for my mini tool (Leatherman) shrunk so i couldn't get the tool out! Then the popper corroded and fell off...

Seen too many chipped teeth from people doing it that way, so I'll stick to my leatherman. Also dont need a corkscrew to get a cork out, the knife blade does it perfectly well!

I chipped a tooth then had it (and three others) removed a while later.

How do you get a cork out with a knife?!

Was that because it closed-up on you? I used to cut myself regularly on my penknives as kid, because they didn't lock like the Leatherything does.

Does anyone actually use the bottle opener on the Leatherman as intended?

I've found that the pliers side on, braced against a knuckle lets you pop the top off faster than doing it 'properly', and more easily.
