Portsmouth. Close enough to Southampton to smell it. wink
Sorry, that "weird" smell is called soap. We use it to clean stuff. Perhaps one day we'll send some over to you.

Most depressing component of my address is the SO postcode. As far as I'm concerned, we are part of Fareham, which makes us more Pompey than So'ton.
However, most of the neighbours refer to us as Southampton frown

In the early 1960's we lived in a little village called Titchfield Common, between Fareham and Warsash. I'd never been back until a year or two ago, when I was early for an appointment in Portsmouth, so I drove by to see what it's like now. I got completely lost in a flippin' ginormous housing estate that seems to fill the entire space from Fareham right through to the Hamble.

I lived there for a year and a half. Depressing place, literally nothing to do, cheap place to rent though.

Unfortunately, all the small villages between Fareham and Southampton have expanded so much that the boundaries are blurred. I do know Titchfield Common well though, as I used to live there. Lots of 'settled' travelling folk round there...

The clue's there somewhere.If you're bright enough to find it, you don't live there

Or if we're drifting to funny town names, there's;

Bracknell -where's the point?
It's by the retail park as you come in from the A329M. It's the big building with the cinema and bowling and stuff, you can't miss it.

I always thought Bridgemary was Rowner? and Gosport officially started at Fort Brockhurst.

Id rather live in Basingstoke than Rowner.

Rowner has a Gosport address, but Bridgemary is between Rowner and Fareham but try telling people from Fareham it's anything to do with them and they'll release the hounds smile.

I'd rather live in North Korea than Bridgemary, hence why I left 30 years ago wink
