I thought I'd come back and update with my thoughts on my recent purchases...
Do you wear these on a regular basis?I watched a film called The Single Man http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1315981/?ref_=nv_sr_2 I read that the Director asked Colin Firth to wear Creed Bois de Portugal during fiming because that is what the character wore in the book, to help him with his character in the film.
Just curious and using the links in this thread I purchased a sample. It's nice but really strong to the point I would think people would smell me before I reached them. I just sprayed a bit on the back of my hand and it was a way too strong, to the point I wouldn't wear that around people.

I'm wearing Dior Sauvage now. Never before have I worn an aftershave that has got so many compliments from females. Even more than when I wear Creed Aventus.
My Dad just got some Dior Sauvage, and I have to say it smells absolutely terrific.I know what you mean about Aventus and compliments. It's been my daily/weekly fragrance for the past couple of years now and I'm always surprised how many people comment favourably on it. Far more than anything else I've ever worn.
In all honesty, I'm getting a little bored of Aventus and fancy a change but it just smells so nice, lasts incredibly well, and everyone else seems to certainly approve when they smell it.

Agreed; I was low on an everyday scent just before Christmas, and went shopping for a new one. Fahrenheit was top of the list after discovering it wasn't as "in your face" as a daily. Then they gave me a sample of Sauvage.Mrs v nearly wet herself.
I've bought a sample of Roja Danger EDP and I absolutely love it. Trouble is, having just ordered a cheap bottle Burberry Touch off Secretsales for £15, I'll be up to 9 aftershaves which is starting to seem a tad excessive! That and the fact it's £225 for a small bottle!
But it would look good housed with the rest of the collection

I've got a bit of a rotation going on at the moment, rather than wear the same thing every day. I'm still anosmic to them once I've been wearing them for a couple of hours but I resist the urge to reapply!
The rotation currently stands at: Creed Aventus, Creed Green Irish Tweed, Dior Homme, Dior Sauvage, Armani Code Profumo, Penhaligons Endymion and Acqua di Parma Colonia. I also have a bottle of Eucris by Geo F Trumper but it's a splash on rather than an atomiser (but I do have some in an atomiser) and is rarely worn. It's a shame because the Eucris shaving soap I use smells amazing, but there's something missing from the splash on that I can't put my finger on.

I'm a wet shaver, which opens up a whole new world of esoteric fragrances. I once made a pilgrimage to a shop in Hungerford (the Gentleman's Shop - sadly no longer there, although I believe they sell by means of the internet) which had an excellent stock of aftershaves, shaving creams, soaps etc, and picked up a couple of aftershaves which I particularly liked:
Acca Kappa 1869
Boticario de Havana
Neither of which are available in this country any more, although Marks and Spencer stocked Acca Kappa for a while. I now have to trawl eBay for them, but it's worth the effort.
One website which doesn't suffer from a lack of pretentiousness or hyperbole when describing scents is Basenotes: www.basenotes.com and is worth a visit.

I've always liked Chanel Allure Homme Sport, I've tried the Chanel Bleu and found just one spray of it to be very overpowering.
One of the best I've had was an el cheapo Tommy Hilfiger one I was given. Can't think of the name now but it was great just to wear every day. I used to use it after the gym to take the pool water smell away.
