Could you have done it? If not, is that because you’re uncool? Or because you didn’t want to kill 500 people?
500 Soviet deaths pales into absolute insignificance compared to the death toll that would have befallen the Finns had Stalin conquered that territory.

Is 500 deaths good? No, but it’s a dam sight better than 500’000 deaths.

Dave Grohl is an AIDS denialist and almost certainly convinced people to stop treatments and died because of him. Not cool.

That was over 20 years ago and they no longer support or believe it.

If he was cool he wouldn't have fallen off the stage in the first place.

I'd say Newman probably deserves his spot.

Newman won several national championships as a driver in Sports Car Club of America road racing, and his race teams won several championships in open-wheel IndyCar racing. He was a co-founder of Newman's Own, a food company from which he donated all post-tax profits and royalties to charity.[2] As of July 2019, these donations have totaled over US$550 million.[3] He was a co-founder of Safe Water Network, a nonprofit that develops sustainable drinking water solutions for those in need.[4]

In 1988, Newman founded the SeriousFun Children's Network, a global family of summer camps and programs for children with a serious illness which has served 1.3 million children and family members since its inception.[5]

The surprisingly talented Marc Rebillet, who appears to be able to make a reasonable living from dancing around his living room in his pants.

A few examples from his improv livestreams (not entirely SFW)

Thanks for posting this, I've lost hours watching his video's now.... As you say, surprisingly talented guy and very cool in an almost uncool way.
One of the comments on his YT says ' James brown died and has come back as Ned Flanders' biggrin
Thanks +1 very cool.

Pretty much binged this channel to death since reading this. Very entertaining to watch, and surprisingly good just as work background music too.

Still credited with the highest number of confirmed kills by a single sniper, somewhere around the 500 mark if i remember correctly. What makes it even more incredible is he achieved this feat in 12 months.
How the hell is being a sniper cool? Whilst there may be skill involved it is probably the most cowardly way to kill someone. 500 kills? Makes them a mass murderer in my eyes.
At what point did i claim he WAS cool?? Someone else claimed he was cool, i was just adding facts to this.

Could it be that Paul Newman is the coolest of the cool people mentioned in this thread so far?

I think this thread shows it all rather depends on how one defines 'cool'. A lot of posters seem to be mistaking it with 'influential' amongst other things.

Surely Keith Richards and Janice Joplin deserve a mention? As has already been said, George was the coolest Beatle,

The Fonz wasn't cool, he was a prick. Arthur Fonzarelli thought he was cool and behaved like it, that is automatic disquaification in the 'being cool' stakes.

Keef on the other hand.....
