Cursed it. 20 mins later the heavens opened. Bedding is now in the dryer.

We've had spells of torrential rain in Burnley, East Lancs. Topped off with super torrential rain and hailstones. Now the sun is shining!
Yep. A lot better today though and for the next few days too, no rain forecast until Sunday.

The forecast from the met office and BBC seems to have been well off recently.

Loads more rain than expected, rain at different times, some supposedly cloudy days sunny etc...

Is there something driving this forecast uncertainty?
Yeah.
'M O D D U L L I N'

When I was a kid in the 50s modelling was restricted to the likes of Airfix, Revell etc, etc.

Today 'so-called experts' from climate scientists to epidemiologists to docs to weather forecasters swear by 'modelling' and inevitably get it wrong all the time.

I doubt most could assemble, let alone forecast, anything correctly. biggrin

This time last year I'd have been in the storm forecast sweetspot according to those maps.

I'll settle for 5c cooler up here compared to down there.

Not jealous about the prospect of 'strong' thunderstorms at all, not at all, not one bit. whistle

Actually....

Met off ice warning a bit further North for Sunday.

I can feel the disappointment of tomorrow already.

Clear blue skies all day up here in NE Scotland, in fact I am a little sun kissed from being outside all day.

Loudest thunder I've heard for years, here between Poole and Wimborne. Not that close or overhead, but could feel the house shaking.
