Hows next week looking? I know this week will stay windy and unsettled. I'm going to hit the road with work and travel to London for the first time since Lockdown

... but not if it's going to be anything like the last week biggrin
Polar Vortex is strong and organised - so unsettled is the form horse.

Also means no chance of winter for most of us.

Great insight in to Eunice vs Franklin. Charts show number of years since the peak winds for each storm were last recorded. Eunice definitely the more noteworthy storm.

Where abouts? Further out seems okay, although one friend near Winnersh has had no internet since Friday.

This overturned shed is no ordinary shed. It's the 'honesty box' shed for the local free range egg farm. It's usually stocked with many, many eggs....

.....omelette anyone?
That's no yolking matter!

(I'll get my coat!)
It's ok, Blib has a thick shell.

Does that mean I can get my summer tyres back on? I’m pretty sure there’s a slow puncture in one of my winters
Polar Maritime weather can certainly still happen (cool winds from the NW) - you couldn't rule out snowfalls in West Yorks. Long periods of cold are certainly currently ruled out.

Cold polar maritime short blast coming up. Could be a lot of snow for western areas of Scotland.

Any signs for a warmer march or are we looking at 8-10c with usual march rain.
Warmer March looks possible for most of western Europe. Probably why the Germans didn't switch NS2 on.

Sorry - been busy in another thread wink

Right - some models picking up a light-weight easterly for around a week's time. I'm not holding up much hope.

Some models still showing an easterly coming up. Some models are not...

It would be typical of this 'winter' - a spot of snow in November, and some in March.

Looking like a Scandi high will form next week. Doesn't necessarily mean snow or even much of an easterly. Tickets for the snowlercoaster are not for sale.

Sandwiched between systems - gross. Good news is improvement and high pressure on the way next week. Sunshine!

We'll review that one in a week then.....

Slightly iffy day today - those on the south coast should keep an eye out for orange dust from the Sahara. Quite amazing pics of orange ski slopes in Spain.

After today, high pressure takes charge. Sunny high pressure - but not really warm, will feel lovely in the sun and cold at night.

More high pressure likely through out spring.
