Gizlaroc was a great poster, but didn't he get mental and extreme about the Covid st? I miss his posts.

But you're right about sartorial advice for older chaps. Those fellas aren't short of money but none are well dressed.

I think it’s a shame the traditional “Men’s outfitters” has disappeared from most towns.

It leaves more senior gents without a refuge and an eye for good fitting clothes.
I agree it is a shame fashion retail is going online to such a degree.

However, those three chaps have no excuse for looking like that - other than they want to! (GB doesn’t look that bad)
I would imagine none of them are short of a bob or two and have many options to purchase stylish clothing that fit should they choose. A lot of men really are not bothered how they look.

indeed, a lot favour mid calf long shorts/trousers [ what is the fking point of these ? ]
the faded uriah heep tour 1977 t-shirt and manky trainers, or worse , flippity flops,

I think girlfriends and wives have a big say in what their men should be seen dead in.

I think you'll find that many men won't be influenced at all by wives - girlfriends perhaps......

Because anyone wearing those will still be living at home with their Mum, probably into steam rallies and vintage buses.

Noddy Holder was pictured yesterday with an oversize suit too.

The elderly shrink, I know that and they aren’t generally going to shell out thousands on clobber that’ll likely outlive them but the independent men’s store helped.

What happened to Gizlaroc? He used to run one in Norfolk I think.

A much missed poster.

Back to thread topic. Sorry.
If you are anywhere near Epping then Cole’s is still serving distinguished mature gentlemen like me.

I went in there once looking for a nice Panama hat. I said to the young assistant that I wanted an old git’s hat and he came back immediately with the very thing!

47 here, I am currently sporting slim fit chino shorts and a Vans t shirt, I am barefoot but if I needed to just pop out I'd put on my Havianna flip flops, or if out for a while, a pair of either Vans or low top Converse.

Now the flip flop thing, there is absolutely nothing wrong with flip flops, hell I was in Menorca last week, there were many young, fit and good looking Spanish men in flip flops, mostly Havianna's.

My BiL, who is early 40's is an awful dresser, he is partial to st, manky trainers, calf length shorts and a cheap t shirt from JD Sports, he's just not bothered, his wife however dresses very well and makes an effort.... after advice from my wife (his sister), he needs to take a bit more notice and be a bit more aware!

Excellent stuff. Sounds good. I had the reception for my first wedding at Epping Forest Country club.

Another thing that’s disappearing.

Nightclubs.

But there’s a dedicated thread for that.

Yeah he's a great actor, only thought of him as I watched The Mummy tonight.

I remember he was particularly ripped in George of the Jungle, way back!

Watching Tour De France the last few weeks made me think Gary Imlach is looking a tad tired and wrinkly (which is rich coming from me, with a fair few wrinkles and grey hair of my own, and certainly feel tired over recent years)

He is 62 though and still as as sharp as ever with his comments and analysis, but as I always think of him as a chirpy youngster, with a flick of brown hair presenting the American Football show.
