I really hope you are right, it is going to be a horror show otherwise and I may spend the day in the bath.

Absolutely, where did this 'feels like' crap come from, I could be sitting in my back garden in 28c in full sun, and it feels like 40c. Nothing new at all.

Really, really not looking forward to it.

Better get some snow next winter to make up for it.

Starting to see thoughts of a mesoscale convective system for tomorrow night. Broadly somewhere along the M62 corridor. These are supersize storms with bigger everything.

What is moderate in terms of what we usually have?

Looks like wales is going to get wet this afternoon then again that's a typical summer day around here.

Grey area is small single cell storms that pass by. Green is bigger single cell storms. When you get to yellow/moderate, you can have multi cell storms. Large hail, tornadoes, flooding - all more likely.

Sort of - it's not an exact science.

I think I got that wrong. It's the chances of a storm...

Low 5-20% chance of lightning nearby
Slight 20-40%
Moderate 40-60%

However - my earlier statements pretty much count today. Yellow area storms have the potential to be quite nasty.

Yes, MetO have removed warnings from the west for thunder.

Yea seen that was a few days of thunder/lightning for the week ahead all gone now.

Seems south wales has missed most of the bad weather this summer.

However - amateur storm forecasters still thinking Wales could get some. They tend to be more accurate than MetO wink

My prediction using nothing but my imagination with absolutely no science at all is;

That the Squib of Dampness shall visit due to the kin-ooge duvet of cloud coming in from the West which has some spiky bits in it that may cause some thunder. But none of this is going to happen where I live in the South East so I don't care.

I was hoping for a rainy thundery BBQ but I guess I'll have to settle for a dry BBQ with no thunder. Bonus is that it is cloudy so that pesky sun is in.
