That you should have to pass a test to:
1) be allowed out on your own
2) be allowed in shops
3) be allowed on public transport
4) be allowed to get on a plane
5) be able to travel internationally

Think of it like a driving test where you can skill up to different classes of vehicle.
The problem with tests, especially driving tests, is that you can nly really have to do them once. This is why I roll my eyes at people who say driving tests are too easy... Firstly it will have been 20+ years since their driving test and secondly it won't do anything about the plethora of morons currently on the road.

You can pass a test and still drive/act like a completely selfish tt.

As for queues, there should be two queues, one for those who can queue and one for those who can't..the first queue should be patrolled by burly security personnel who will forcibly remove anyone who can't queue and send them to the back of the queue for people who can't queue. Though I suspect that isn't an unpopular opinion.

Guilty as charged. Work is for the poor anyway.

Anyone who still thinks working from home is a form of slacking is just projecting their own nature onto other people.

Well yes testing the portable appliance test seems pointless

6) be allowed to have children

Think of it like a parenting test which as well as needing decent parenting skills would also include means testing. If you don't have the means to support said children, then you can't have them, rather than the current system which seems to reward the work-shy by giving them more free benefits the more kids they have.

I've done it loads
I suspect most testing is just putting green stickers on.

Right to stay in any country should also hinge on the ability to communicate, at the very least, in a rudimentary fashion in the national language
There is already a Visa requirement for language ability, with some exceptions like the elderly or disabled, and the Americans who think they speak the language smile
Doesn't apply in asylum cases though

They are if the sentence is long enough (i.e. not just a speeding ticket) Or at least an attempt is made

unless there is few of persecution/torture when they go back. I'd suggest that if they're guilty of rape/murder/(serious) assault that's just tough st. Right to family life? Tough st

I agree it would be unrealistic to expect everyone to be able to have even a rudimentary grasp of English - however after a certain period.... Yes, yes I know this isn't always easy either, but if they've made it here they've got a decent amount of gumption so attempting to learn a language should be do-able (as an aside it also helps to cut down on abuse since help can be requested, yes I'm hopelessly naive)

With the world cup assaulting our senses we must admit sadly, regrettably and sexistly [?] probably,
that pro women's footie is still a travesty, a boil on the bum of the beautiful game.

But on the upside, some fit TV presenters and pundits.

I much prefer women's football than men's so that's probably subjective.

I can't stand either so it's academic. But hey, that's probably an unpopular opinion.

It's a peculiarly Protestant country thing to say. "Haha I dont try to maximise the ease at which I do stuff to get money". I work from home 4 days a week. Top 3% earner. Who's the mug?

My cousin used to do this whilst working for Mitie. He agrees with you. Unfortunately it seems to be mainly Public Sector that go overboard with this.

The whole way a manufacturer takes the piss out it's customers, who have to genuflect at the feet of "their AD".

It is the watch equivalent of an M3.

They make a million a year ffs.
