I'm becoming obsessed. I'm finding myself wanting to shave all the time, have joined badger and blade forum where a very kind gent has sent me a selection of blades for free.
If you like B&B, we have our very own UK based forum:

Oh and if anyone is fed up of some of their stuff, give me a pm please.

So, third shave today with the Derbyshire and it was tough. I reckon two and they're done. Fair bit of tugging and a little irritation.

Reckon ill try the feathers at the weekend.

I find Derbys to be very hit or miss in a pack of 5 you may have 4 good ones or 3 bad ones so I just dont bother with them anymore, at least with feathers they are all consistent (good for 4 shaves)

Having tried a sample pack i found feathers to be the best, closely followed by the wk ones, then 7 O'clocks and sharks.

So not bad for something available on the high street smile

I have mainly used Derby but I like Wilkinson ones - I will probably use them as my main blades now.

I brought 40 feather blades for £10 and a few pence the other day. Quite pleased with that.

Shaving Shack, 30 blades = £10.19 delivered + a free gift (so choose 10 free feathers).

Chaps I can't get a decent lather with this sandalwood old bond street cream. I've watched a few videos on technique but still can't get it to be as good as I'd like. I'm also using Derby blades which to be honest seem pretty poor. Will have to try some Feathers.

I'm struggling with the lather too. I watch videos and on them the lather looks like its like fresh whipped egg whites with great peaks. I'm just not getting that. I'm thinking I'm not using enough cream.

I think it might be worth face lathering.

Are you both using decent brushes?

I haven't used cream for a while, but a tiny bit of water in your shave bowl, an almond sized bit of cream on the tip of a wet brush and you should be able to whip up a storm.....

Soak brush, flick moisture away then add water from your fingers to the bowl a few drips at a time, normal issue is too wet.

I just had a fantastic shave - I'm not sure what it was, but BBS and pretty good on my neck.

I used the pre-shave cream for the first time, and it did seem to help - my skin was a lot more relaxed when shaving. I also kept the lather in a boots shaving cake bowl (great for making lather!) in the sink so it stayed warm. biggrin
