simple one.
Books.
You don't ever go into council homes and see bookcases, collections of books etc.
maybe a wall of VHS cassettes or DVD's, or PS games: but no to books.
In fact you don't ever see a child's desk/or table set aside for homework etc.
Now I wonder if there are any connections to be made here about societies impending slip downwards.
If your bookshelf is bigger than your Telly, things are going in the right direction.Books.

Actually cheaper to buy the good stuff in the long run, they use Sebos in hotels, so will cope with domestic, bought ours ten years ago and aside from a break in the flex that I fixed its been perfect, Dysons are fragile in comparison, see how many you see when you go to the tip.
Agree 100% regarding the Sebo, I have one of these, : http://www.vaclensa.co.uk/sebo-bs36-comfort-415-p....Absolutely bullet proof, last for years.

Prince Philip would eat them from the packet.
I think my new mantra is going to be 'What would Prince Philip do?'

think this depends where in the country you are, when myself and the ex-MrsAlorotom had a boat and it was moored in Hartlepool, that vast majority of the other owners/sailors happened to be very normal folk just enjoying their hobby. there was only one couple marginally view themselves as better than others and in fairness they had a wealth more experience than anyone else who owned a boat there, they were full time live-aboards and have done multiple cross-atlantic voyages to the caarribean (every winter) themselves
I do actually miss the marina set sometimes, good times, plus ex-MrsAlorotom didnt really like the boat so it was peace perfect peace with just the clink of the masts and lapping water
My dad has a sailing boat moored in Lymington. It's put me off for life.I do actually miss the marina set sometimes, good times, plus ex-MrsAlorotom didnt really like the boat so it was peace perfect peace with just the clink of the masts and lapping water
