After some research, I have found out that the Teelöffel Interessengemeinschaft e. V. located the original Tl109 tools in Belarus, where they ended up as spoils of war. Now located in Untergruppenbach, Meister Schmitt junior himself recalibrated this gem on these tools for our family.

After some practising, I took them out on a longer journey; and they feel surprisingly stable when annexing!

One man's scratches are another man's age-appropriate patina wink

On a simply elegant beauty like that?

I take it you’d also take your RR Phantom to the local Romanian £5 car wash as well? Philistine!

That will require a light restoration by a suitably trained professional to get it back to its original glory where it’s sleek lines will shine through.

Machine polish?? Dear oh dear oh dear. Get the Brasso out next I suppose...

Ha! "Get the Brasso out!" - I know exactly how you are saying that and I know exactly who you are imitating in doing so. Definitely one of the best Spoontube channels to follow, isn't it?

On a similar subject: I’ve spent many a weekend shut away in my shed away from my wife’s prying eyes rubbing and buffing my bits to try and achieve a perfect finish but never quite achieved full satisfaction. What technique would you recommend, and is there anything I can use to help things along? Many thanks

It would be remiss of me not to mention one of my very first sponsors.

Autosol; the original and the best.

(With a Krupp "Everyday137(b)".)

I must confess I used to use that for reclaiming unloved but good quality spoons that I acquired over the years, but for show preparation, I suggest Carter and Fotheringey "FyneSpoon" brand spoon rouge is the ultimate product.
I must point out that I am in no way connected to this company apart from being a very satisfied customer. smile

Is that alright, Mr. F?;)

As we’re sharing, here’s my Warstaffer 427 (Longhandle 1975 version) and my Beuchamps DeFlurgen Warbler (silly name but a lovely short handle delicate construction) with my first ever Brasso tin supplied after my 1993 European championship win.

FYI, the spoon in the beans is a tablespoon, horribly oversized junk that my wife insists on using rolleyes

As if. They didn't remove the advert for a counterfeit Wells & Blausch '68 Montdubec, so they're hardly likely to give this even a second glance.

That 427 is wonderful. You'll never see a better example of an accentuated splay taper.

Aren't crossed spoons normally considered bad luck?

It’s on my family’s cost of arms, hasn’t done us any harm.

Well, a bit, but not much.
