Just outside St Andrews here. It’s getting a bit gusty, lots of bars and restaurants still have their outdoor gazebos up as well lol.

Sit-Rep - NED (North East Deryshire)

A sleety hailey shower has just passed, but no snow and no blow, yet.

Huge flakes of snow falling in Aberdeen but not lying yet. May do if it continues for much longer.

The winter tyres went on the car on Monday so I'm planning to take the back roads home tonight biggrin
Decided at lunchtime that working from home for the rest of the day would be a sensible idea. Snow doesn't bother me but high winds? Sod that, takes all the fun out of driving!

It was a sensible move as the wind and rain are now brutal. I'm not sure my back fence is going to survive this and its pretty sturdy. Already had part of what looks like someone's shed roof land in the garden eek

Still not to bad here, the Tay road bridge is still open to high sided vehicles. Certainly not windy enough to warrant a red warning just now.

Friends in Aberdeenshire have no power and every route away from their home is blocked. Conditions described as 'wild'.

Aberdeen, closed our office early and I gave some staff a lift home, dodging trees on the way.

Home now, got everything charging, waiting for power to go out as its been flickering for the past 15 minutes hehe also weighed down some stuff in the garden. This'll be a fun night!

Just a gentle breeze in the Aire Valley in Yorkshire, despite the Beeb saying it should up 45mph+ at the moment.

East Lothian; rather windy forecasted to reach 73mph with driving rain. My wife had to finish work early as Scotrail cancelled all trains after 3pm. There are reports that the A1 will also be closed as a precaution.

Aberdeenshire and it’s wild as said. Power off a few times, and now it’s been off the last 30 mins likely to be a longer outage. JCB driver manfully clearing chunks of tree from the road in front of the house, but staying home the best idea.
My mate flew up from Heathrow this afternoon, landed about 4 and they won’t let them off the plane as it’s too unsafe to use ground equipment. Last I heard taking about flying back to London - sounds absurd.

Edit - just heard he’s off after waiting 3 hours. A guy threw a medical emergency to force the issue.

Aberdeen damage report, leaking back door, one fallen slate and a goosed section of fence between us and our neighbour. No power cuts for us so far thankfully.

After quite a bit of snow earlier the wind has continued to ramp up and up.

Trees down everywhere including a lovely old cedar blocking our track. Pickup is abandoned half a mile from the house after having to drive cross country through the fields from the main road.

Worst storm in decades locally even if the snow has eased for now.

The dog seems happy enough (unless he's running to get home!)!

Despite supposedly being mostly Saluki (from the Middle East) she's incredibly hardy and happily runs around exploring long after I give up outside.

So i came round a corner on a postman pat type road about 35 to run into this. emergency stopped just before hitting it.

Then as I was reversing that tree to the left fell over into the field.
