Let's see if PH is going to bar RJ from hosting shows as well as appearing as a guest on panel shows, quiz shows, chat shows...

Anyone would think that many people seem to just not be able to tolerate somebody with Cerebral Palsy on the TV at all eek
Careful, that Straw Man might catch fire.

Feel free to post some examples of her jokes here and we'll see if she is actually funny.

Cerebral Palsy doesn't make somebody not funny; not being funny makes somebody not funny, regardless of any other factors.

Lost Voice Man; can't speak yet makes for a better stand-up comedian than RJ.
Oops, silly me, forgot to put ‘stand-up’ on the list

I’m actually not. I know there have been lots of comments on here previously so felt like adding this new (to me at least) information.

I won’t be watching. From what I’ve seen of her act previously it relies on the “amusement” value of someone with a disability saying “c**t” every now and then.

Any woman who performatively supports the misogyny cult of men-in-dresses should never be trusted, let alone be considered funny!

How does a pic of JK Rowling make you cry?
Men LARPing as women is a prime candidate for comedy surely.
Dick Emery used to make me laugh anyway.

I don't think anyone is obsessed, more frustrated that she ruins programs that they might otherwise find funny.
She's an instant channel changer when I see her on the TV.

It's a thread about unfunny comedians, it's no wonder she gets the most mentions.

As likely as a thread called "Red Cars" having lots of mentions of Ferraris.

But why come in to highlight when she's next going to be on tv or post a tweet that shows she supports transpeople?

Like I said a while ago, I don't care whether you think she's funny or not, don't watch her if you don't. There's more to it with some of the folk posting though.

Yeah maybe fair enough there, I think rightly or wrongly she REALLY grates on lots of people (myself included to a certain extent) so commenting on her comedy spills over into perhaps a slight witch hunt? Probably not great, but it's an online forum, it'll happen.
A line often used in these pastures "I don't imagine she's reading this forum and worrying about what we think". Doesn't make it right I suppose. It's not necessarily wrong either though. I dunno.

The funny comedian thread has 12 pages and hasn't been bumped since November.

Why do so many people that have an opinion about comedy have nothing positive to speak about, yet Rosie Jones gets far more attention that all funny comedians combined by a massive ratio.

It is no surprise that she keeps getting booked for TV when she gains the level of following/obsession she has.

The thread is very silly but as an aside, I can heartily recommend Rosie Jones' documentary about the prevalence of disability trolling: "Am I a R*tard?".

To be fair, that was a very good watch, but probably because she wasn't trying to be funny.

The RJ comments would have gone away long ago if some had just let it go. Like they would when any other standup gets a mention on here.

saw Ricky Gervais last week and he mentioned this and the fact that she was criticised by some woke brigaders for using the Reta*d word when she is physically disabled not mentally handicapped. Apparently she should have used something relating more accurately and the term Spas**c was suggested. The irony of this this amused Gervais immensely.......... might be bullsh*t but equally might not

It's because she appears on comedy programmes that you want to watch, but she ruins the programme to the point you can't watch it. She's the complete opposite of what most want from a comedy programme so folk rightly get annoyed.

Stand, sit or any other position; she’s not funny.

And that’s the point of the the thread isn’t it, *unfunny* comedians. Therefore, comedians we won’t be watching.

What’s the “our community” that she’s referring to there?
Does she mean actual community in its original sense?
