My thread has arrived.

Mine is battered and abused but wouldn't be without it.

Somehow smoking is better with the. Click-Rasp-Clack sound of the Zippo. I cant be doing with the plastic throw away lighters, it's just not the same.

I have lots of Zippo's but the old V8 is the daily.

That is awesome.

Do Zippo still offer a "free" lifetime repair/refurbishment service if you post your lighter back to them, or was this some urban myth?
Fairly sure that is standard Zippo practice. I think you can even download a warranty card off the website.

I honestly can't remember - I've had it for donkey's years. Longer, in fact, than the "proper" Zippo shown.

Probably another "I found it in a pub" thing.
I swear that 20% of Zippo circulation is people losing/finding them hehe

Seems that loads of people with Zippo's have lost/found them at one point, myself included. I lost the Jack Daniels one I bought when I was 14/15 a few years ago when I dropped it in a mates car and he scrapped it the next day. Absolutely gutted about that I was.

I use the Zippo stuff because it is easily obtained and generally cheaper.

£1.41 on amazon, for example.

I very much doubt it TBH, you could probably run a Zippo off unleaded without too much badness. May need to re-wick it and replace the padding but it would work.

Pfff, show me someone who wouldn't like a bit of extra length and I'll show you a liar.

Well that turned out to be a bit larger than I thought it would be, or needs to be. I thought it would be a get you home, small top up. I could run my Zippo for a week with what this will carry.

It is two full fills apparently.

My recent purchases. The orange one and the dark chrome are my originals, the others except the black one came today. The black one isn't mine.

Stupid question. Can I use unleaded petrol?
Certainly can, and it is a damn sight cheaper than the fluid. I imagine it is what all the 'nam ones pictured previously would have been run on too.

My one (selling on eBay at the moment):

30th Anniversary pacman one. I'm a non-smoker but couldn't resist when I saw this.
That is top quality. Dare I ask how much it is currently on?

Just found that on eBay.. it's tempting, very tempting - might be too rich for my blood though given it's still got a day to go
Roughly the same price as a new one at the moment, may have a punt tomorrow.
