An update. Not good!

I was away today with one child, other child and wife at home.

She was having a bath, youngest was asleep, both cats were (strangely) in the bathroom with her. She sings some songs, changing to an old 1700s songs (it isn’t as weird as it sounds, she loves history and has just started working as an archeologist). When she sings it, she hears shuffling outside the door. She stops and it stops. She tries again, sing, shuffling. She’s pretty freaked out. She gets to the end of the song and someone pushes the door open!

She jumped out the bath and checked on the child, he was fast asleep. The cats wouldn’t leave until she did. They were looking at the door with their hair stood up whilst this was all happening.

This is the first time she’s felt really uncomfortable here. Oh dear.

I asked if she has sung it before, but only when she was abroad, earlier this year, as a lullaby.

The door opened with a bang, it wasn’t a simple, slow opening. It was hit open.

I’m open to suggestions, but it certainly isn’t rodents (don’t look too far into me having just asked on another thread about a dead mouse in the garden!).

The whole footstep thing is still common. I’ve taken a look at some footage straight after hearing them, but there was nothing. Certainly not anything caught with the view on the camera. I will attach the view seen on cam.

The video was just showing the area being filmed. There was nothing interesting to see, apologies. The area that has most “activity” is at the bottom of the stairs to that area. See a previous video on earlier pages to see up and down the stairs and the corridor with regular footsteps.

It's a good point, and something i'm very happy to check and go along with.

I'm sat working from home right now (alone), heard two large bangs from somewhere. It's all good fun!

The noises I mentioned earlier were explained later that day; I found the boiler locked out.

There certainly does seem to be more to report from my wife. It doesn’t explain my dad, in the original post, though.

The footstep noise is most common and I’m still trying to explain that one. Still open to other/more suggestions.

Did we ever hear why the mixer ended up being thrown through a window?
To get to the other side?
Turned out a girl attending the local fireworks display broke it. She was found out and the parents paid the bill. It's the window for the pantry and the mixer was already there, unsurprisingly judge

That's the one. I'm still trying to sort out an explanation.

I'm back.

Just got called into the bathroom. Wife having a bath (again?!), towel drops to ground, she looks round, tap was turned on. She was in the bath alone the whole time. Tap wasn't running before and towel looked secure.

Dodgy tap, quite possibly. She's not having a good time!

Genuinely, the most likely explanation is an as-yet undiagnosed mental illness. Not nice to hear, but worth considering as a real possibility.
She isn't the only one who has commented though. Happy to explain this one away, though.

What kind of tap is it? Hot or cold tap? How old is it? Is it in good condition?

Cold tap, old style turn knob, it's old and in bad condition.

Sorry, not read the whole thread, been trying to avoid the ego contest.

Who sung the song? If wife, asking for a haunting!
It was. But she won’t do it. I will play it whilst in the bath, whilst recording. I’m prepared for a huge batch of wasting my own time, but it’s all about putting in the effort !

Happy new year everyone.

I didn’t think I had much reason to post, until today.

My son and wife were in the bathroom tonight. They both heard a child’s voice say “help me”. My wife tried to pretend she hadn’t heard it but my son said, “who was that child who said help me, mummy?”

My wife thought I was winding her up, talking up the drain pipe from outside (which I could probably manage if I so desired!). Alas, I was not.

When it first kicked off, she said, fire up Rightmove!

As strange as it sounds, you can get used to almost anything! My last house was brand new and I hated it. This is more interested, at least!

I’ve invited my father to a day at Cadwell, I’ll see if he will stay the night and I’ll be interested to hear his thoughts again after his previous bad night. Nothing seems sinister, though!

Tonight it was the cough of an old lady in the bedroom (my wife has a cough, but she isn’t old!).

Rather suspicious that none of this happens to me; I’m here all the bloody time !

She's just not the sort for a wind up. I've got a friend staying soon (Cadwell Park at the beginning of Feb if anyone is going!); i'll see how he finds it.

Yeah, I've got more than enough on my plate at the moment, expense wise, so any equipment is rather low on the priority list. I still haven't brought the CCTV back down from the top floor yet!
