Now looking at 60kph winds and upgraded to blizzard status on Sunday , it's going to be fun .
Meanwhile, favoured areas might see 20 (!) in the UK tomorrow. Foehn effect means anywhere downhill from a mountain to the East (ie western coastal areas in SW, Wales) could really warm up.

A tweet of hope (and that is all it is!):

The chart means nothing to me, but the text is the hopeful bit.

Utterly miserable here in West Berks - stuck under an atmospheric river - heavy rain all day.
Had to help push a young lad's car off the road today after he totalled it in a crash with a tree. Petrol all over the road, dangerous bend... Stupid gawpers not offering to help. Grrrrr.
Nevermind, on the Leffe now![beer](/inc/images/beer.gif)
Better in the south tomorrow (but not good!).

October was exceptionally wet: https://blog.metoffice.gov.uk/2020/11/03/uk-sees-f...
November is heading there fast, but a drier spell coming up for the South.
Northerly wind at the end of the week - normally outside of Scottish coast areas it means dry.

Love the picture of the marten - I came face to face with one at our house in France. By far the most beautiful creature I've ever witnessed. loafer123 said:
No so funny when the little b
ds get inside your house in France and s
t everywhere...thankfully our farmer neighbour threw a cat in the house and left it there to chase them away.
Beautiful pictures, as ever, by GetCarter. I really must do a driving holiday in Scotland.
They got in to the insulation gap between plasterboard and tiles in our house - through a broken air vent in the roof. I'm aware of the mess and smell ![](/inc/images/censored.gif)

This will not happen like this, but an interesting tweet which shows how cold *could* happen, when a high forms over the UK then migrates to Greenland and opens the door to real cold...

The best thing to read in to this is that there is currently some potential for cold.
