Don't know if it's true or not, but I heard that they had to sell the the top floors out at a discount as it was one of the 1st, 'skyscrapers', and people didn't think they'd be able to breathe properly as it was SO high up!

My favourite is the Chrylser Building that's already been put forward. It's kept its character inside too, and still has a wonderfully art-deco interior.

However for me, at the moment, the building that makes me go "hmmm" each morning as I pass it on the way to work is this one.



It's the Infinity Tower in Dubai, just a normal apartment building, but there's something about it...

Lincoln cathedral. Hate where I currently live for university and happy every time I go back. See it for miles and miles around. Keeps me happy. Back in it's day(Build started in 1185 and finished in 1311) it was possibly the tallest building in the world for about 250 years.

For me its Templehof Airport. The architecture is stunning, however you do have to get your head round who it was built for and what went on there, and some of it decidely unpleasant.
