however we have a new guy at work. we share the same uncommon surname. my name is phil, his is paul. its causing lots of confusion including me getting his tax rebate.
One of my ex colleagues used to receive lots of emails intended for the company MD. Same surname and first initial. Just different pay grade (by about the entire scale!).

My namesake also does rallying in Scotland. Causes no end of confusion when ordering stuff online especially as we once lived in the same city too. Must co-drive for him one day.

My name is Alan Davies. I've never met Jonathon Creek though.

I did do a speed awareness course and they asked us to write our names on the place cards so they knew who we were, on my table of 6 there were 3 Alan's so we had to write our surnames down too, 2 of us were Alan Davies.

Veal is a fairly rare surname. I once saw the number plate M V3AL, so I followed it and when the driver stopped introduced myself.
I think he was a Martin rather than a Mike. He did try to sell me a registration as he apparently has several. I politely declined, although M V3AL is a tiny bit cool, I don't really get the private plate thing and to be honest a private plate isn't really needed on the Skunk.

No, there's only one other of me and he's the CFO of a Childrens Hospital in America.

I've got a very uncommon surname and any that share it are most probably a distant relation.

Not quite, but when I was racing mountain bikes in the 90s my dad's name was the same as one of the Raleigh team riders. Twenty years later & I own & ride (even raced it) the bike that his namesake won the national championships on.

My namesake is the guy that referees our Tuesday night 7-a-side league.
Not met many people with the same surname, let alone the same version (spelled a few different ways) but the middle name was different, so not a 100% match.

How could you possibly see that registration? Unless you're not in the UK

And I was named after a family member who died long before I was born. So no, I haven't met mine.

Likewise - certainly in UK anyway.
Seems unlikely really. Intriguing though.
