I went on a date with a girl my age, that was until she mentioned that she had a granddaughter. The evening ended shortly afterwards.

Out the bleedin' door rapido.

What, without assessing the granddaughter?

Yep, absolutely true.

It is a sad situation. At the ripe old age of 25 the 18yr olds seem somewhat naive and not very interesting (apart from aesthetically) and girls my age are far too risky, they all have thoughts of long term relationships/moving in/families etc which has the potential to really screw up ones life. Older women do nothing for me so they're out too. Oh for the glory days of university frown.

The inevitable conclusion is that getting laid is no longer worth the risk and it's time to eschew female interaction and focus on life's many other pleasures.

You're hanging out with entirely the wrong women. How many girls in their mid-twenties do you know that look like Steven Tyler crossed with Fat bd?

Taylor Swift is in her mid-twenties, I hardly think she fits your 'end of days' description.

You're being silly. Girls of 24/25/26 have not done so much crack and booze that they look like meth addled octogenarians, not unless you go seeking girlfriends at the local women's prison.

Simon.

My work has a fairly regular influx of staff, for some of which it's their first job so often they're only 18 or 19. I Just turned 40 and they seem to get prettier! It's not fair!

Really? I'm the same age, well mid twenties anyway, and have tried dating girls younger, older and the same age as me.

The weird thing is that, as this is such an important phase in life, like a year or two can have dramatic impact on the formulation of personality; I tend to find the younger ones and I don't have a lot in common. I'm 26, and going our with a 20 or 21 year old left me feeling as if there was an undefinable gulf between us. Somehow I just felt as if I was further along in life than her. It's no reflection of her intelligence or whatever, it's just that one is a completely different person at 26/27 to when aged 21/22. In cosmic terms it's no time at all.

Despite this I've tended to find my tastes maturing as I age. Going out with an eighteen year old would just be weird, now, in my opinion. Conversely it seemed normal when I was eighteen. Plus I find the whole 'older man' thing repellent, in terms of the forty year olds chasing twenty-somethings. It's creepy! There are single people in every age group; just find one!
fk me.. What a young fogie!!!

In my twenties I found plenty of women in their 30s-40s hot and fit lick I've always fancied older women..................until I hit 50.

I've never understood this much younger thing, pretty and slim but nothing in common.

Living in a university town, you immediately notice the local stock is usually kidded by 20 and built like a brick shirt house, whereas the mainly middle class uni girls are demure, petite, well spoken etc, quite depressing really.

I was almost opposite to the OP, as I got older, I lost interest in younger girls. Being pretty didn't make up for not being interesting. I'm 29 and wouldn't go out with someone under 23 now, as that's when maturity starts to develop I think, and the regular drinking phase has been done if they went through that (if it hasn't then I'm not really interested), I have a pair of cousins who are over mid 20s and still drinking to get pissed every weekendsand they are looking seriously haggered these days. My wife is 31 and looks younger than them and was never a heavy drinker.

I'm 28.

Still lust after 18 year olds haha.

However, 40 year olds are now attractive to me.

Shudder.

At 25 you really should be doing a 35 year old in the process of a divorce, bang the granny out it, do all the things you wouldn't dare ask when sober then move on to the next one.
You'll finds shes the one that wants to bring her mate round for a threesome etc

Mid-twenties, but I still look at 19 year old girls with licentious eyes.

I'm certain all men are the same, but my problem is exacerbated because I find women my age to have lost their aura.

Yes they are generally smarter and more tolerable day to day, but too many years of drink and drugs and their skin has gone to st.

In a few years I'll be 30, then I'll have to contend with saggy boobs and smelly skin.
Don't worry OP, the acne will have cleared up by the time you are 30. This will open up a whole new world for you.
