A few times when things have felt too unbalanced (they're never completely balanced) I've pulled right back and waited for the friend to get in touch.

A couple of times they haven't and that's been that. It tells me all that I need to know.

Friendship is a two way street. Might be more traffic in one direction and that's fine, but when it becomes one way its time to rethink .
