Well I picked New Zealand and moved there biggrin

Its not perfect. has its share of crime and poverty, and very unaffordable housing if you are trying to get onto the ladder.
Upside is an amazing country and great lifestyle with relatively low population.

Have some Canadian friends who a few years ago moved back to Canada, they returned to NZ 6 months later biggrin

I've lived in a few place in Europe, Africa and Asia, including years in Norway, which is defiantly not my favorite country. Best weather I'd pick Ethiopia, but I love Malaysia, weather OK, decent rules for foreigners to own property and they don't tax foreign residents which is a big advantage over it neighbours to the North. If the weather was OK Scotland would take some beating.

I consider myself very fortunate to live on the Gold Coast, Australia. The weather is simply superb and the scenery can be spectacular. I'm only a few hours from the Great Barrier Reef and whilst living expenses are high, the quality of life is high too.

I think one day I'd like to live in the UK again but I can always see myself splitting my time between the two as I just can't deal with the UK winters.

There may well be a "best country" to some people but imho there truly isn't.

Every country has it's flaws, some a lot more than others and most countries have an upside to them such as natural beauty, culture, food, people, history, availability of decent cars and motorbikes for good prices, entertainment etc.

Interesting to see Canada mentioned.

Think it's an absolutely classic case of the grass is always greener, to be honest.

There is a lot to be said for South Africa but its finding the right part of SA to be in.

UK for me all day long.

Can't understand the love for Canada, I find it boring.

We have so much going on here and you can't be far from things to do and see although it's still easy to find solitude.

Weather isn't as bad as people make out (we love to moan though) cost of living is OK and it's safe.

Whenever I travel and the plane returns over the fields and hills I realise nowhere is like the UK.

Difficult to define, however from the places in the world I've visited I'd say Italy.

History, culture, food, weather, everyone dresses well and is relaxed from a work/lifestyle perspective plus the women are hot.

Can I offer Estonia?

Low population density

No H&S BS

No Pc BS

Great sense of social responsibility, no litter, chewing gum dog st and most involved in some way in defense.

Great public transport

Great social care i.e they don't just give money away, but look after those who need it.

Hot women in surplus to men

Good driving roads (if a little flat in places).
Can you elaborate? How do you know? Links? Cost of living?
My GF is from Estonia and it definitely has it's advantages but a few downsides too.

Driver less vehicles now too

This.

There's a reason that this country is constantly ranked one of the happiest in the world pretty much every year.

Yes beer is expensive, like everything else but wages are high and the work/life balance is unreal and one of the most beautiful countries in the world only after Iceland....... . And I say that as a proud Welshman.
I lived in Oslo for 3 years, on a work assignment.
Winters are long, dark and cold.

Even the summers are not that good.

Ditto. I'm a bit of a home bird, but even my GF who loves travelling loves it when she can see the green on England when we fly back in.

I really can't bear Germany but would certainly put the Netherlands on my list.
I've been all over Germany and it's a wonderful country. I'll be back in Berlin in October and Luebeck and Hamburg in November. The Netherlands on the other hand is my least favourite place to visit. I'm there every year and don't think I've ever been where it wasn't wet, grey and dull (and I'm from the UK!) The people are more direct and the the I'm yet to find a decent hotel. Rotterdam is OK.
