Spain.

Went once about 20 years ago with the kids to Benidorm and absolutely hated it and always reused to consider it for a holiday.

Then about 3 years ago went to Andalucia for a week, loved it, and have since been on walking holidays, road trips city breaks, villa breaks. Missed out on a potential 17 years of great trips.

rofl That's brilliant.

A bit like saying:

Sex ...I got bummed by a 21 stone paedo when I was 12, it's not for me.

North coast of Spain is brilliant as are most bits of the Pyrenees. Mass tourism stretches of Mediterranean best avoided to my taste.

I can be a bit picky. I wrote Greece off about 30 years ago when we got served tinned mixed veg with every meal including breakfast. Still not been back.

All of Spain is great, apart from the bits where other English people go.

Coffee.

I drank my first cup of coffee about two months ago, after managing to avoid the stuff for almost 60 years.

We've just moved into a new house and our neighbours invited us in for "a coffee".

I assumed I'd have a choice of beverage. However, out came the caffetiere(sp?) thing and, with no tea based option offered, as a true Brit, I thanked our hosts and drank every single drop. Much to the amusement of Mrs B.

It was just as awful as I'd imagined. Never again!

Football. Had no interest in playing or watching it until I was in early 40s and had kids. Got into it through them. Now a season ticket holder and was, until an accident, playing up to 3 times a week myself (badly). The accident has really made me appreciate but also regret the minimal number of years I was able to play regularly. I can still play from time to time but not as much.

Glad it's not just me. I did try a sip in 1992, but it tasted every bit as bad as it smells.

Really want to be able to eat seafood - prawns, shellfish etc.

I eat lots of fish and like fishy tastes. However, even looking at the slime that is shellfish just makes me want to heave and I just can’t imagine putting any of it in my gob. But I reckon I would love the taste. Just can’t summon up the balls to have a go when the missus has a plateful in front of her.

Also offal. Everyone raves about it but having tried kidney ( tastes of piss) and liver (dry) years ago, I have no desire to do it again, but have seen lots of offal recipes which look really interesting and taste good with a proper cut of meat.

I went many many years without tea after deciding I didn't like it.

I was then brought what I decreed was a lovely cup of tea by the midwife team after my daughter was born last year, and now have a nice cup of tea most days, though I still predominantly drink coffee

Can’t get past the concept, but I’m told once you’ve tried it, you’re hooked (much like Teslas apparently).
Try Black Pudding bread!

Chutney, didn't eat it until a was in my early 30s as it looked like foul mush.

Quite partial to it on a bit of cheese now.
