There's been several posts by some of late that make you think that if that's a true reflection of that person, it'd most definitely the sort of person you'd actively avoid. Boorish, ignorant and condescending aren't nice traits to have in life but many do. An internet forum is almost a free reign to let such types have their satisfaction, belittling others and it's a shame. Over the past few months there seems to be more and more of this "it's cool to be a c*nt" mentality on Pistonheads. Big fish, wee pond mentality. Sad really.

I'm a Scotsman that was brought up in Germany.

Neither are nations known for being overly gentle or holding back on opinions. It's safe to say I'm not really a people person. I wouldn't say many people consider me rude but I doubt I come across as warm and fuzzy either.

I don't think I'm very different online or face to face.

Similar. There are people on this internet that I don’t know so I see no reason to be rude to them. But there are also people I know and who know me - we can be as rude to each other as we like. That’s part of the fun of PH, it has created real friendships across the electronic ether which survive worldwide.
