Without derailing this into another covid thread but what the hell are they so frightened of ?
The vaccination has been given to most people and we are allowed out to crack on pretty much. figures are rising but it seems the vax is doing its job.
Why get all defensive now and make you do a 10 day stint ? its bloody daft.

Some good questions
1. No takeaway or Deliveroo allowed
2. If you abscond the hotel security can’t physically detain you BUT it’s a £4000 fine and the cops will find you 100%
3. The story is the story. Wife is Kenyan, lives in Qatar, I’m British live in London. We have property in Nairobi and Siaya, will move there permanently in 2023. Met on Tinder, LDR, private jet is courtesy of Qatar airways.
4. I’d love a concept 2 in the room but nothing doing.

They don't know it's just stupid politics. Infection rates on flights into the UK are no higher than actually in the UK (thats pretty amazing really with the lack of social distancing for up to 13hrs in an aluminium tube). If they were that concerned about variants they would sequence every positive test of travellers for variants, which they said they would, to see where the problems were. They are a not. it single figure percentages of the positive tests. A hotel is still a hotel...... so still likely to have a kitchen that normally cooks meals for hundreds of guests at regular meal times.
If the capacity is higher than the kitchen normally feeds, you telling me after a year or more of this they havent worked out how to get extra staff and equipment to manage the need?

It was originally planned for March 2020, then September. Caterers, venue, photographer, and more all paid nearly two years ago.
The thing is we will never see that money again, if I keep postponing the suppliers (who to be fair are African small businesses) will just disappear so we’ve bit the bullet.
Even on The 26th Kenya issued a bulletin enforcing travellers from Qatar to quarantine for 10 days. Fortunately that was revised due to kicking off to allow Kenyan citizens to avoid it.
I’ve not had a vaccine, never felt the need and can’t see what advantage that’d give me.
