However there are other items for which there is no rational explanation. A Picasso painting is an example. The cost of the materials is insignificant. It would also be straightforward to have someone make a fake that is indistinguishable from the real one, except for experts (and even then they might have to use technology). Yet one is worth millions and the other almost nothing.
That’s only irrational if you deem counterfeit money to be worth the same as real money. Along the lines of the OPs post, on the thread about not being able to insure Range Rovers, there were a lot of people popping in and saying “well you can insure anything for the right price”
While that it is indisputably correct, it was also people just parroting a well worn phrase and completely missing the point.
Yes, you can insure anything for the right price, but the point is nobody wants to spend £20k insuring a £50k car, and they’d be mad to do so.

"If you run you car low on fuel it sucks up all the sludge from the bottom of the tank" erm, the pickup is at the lowest part of the tank which is the bottom so is always taking fuel from the bottom of the tank.
you've never ran a classic with a steel fuel tank, then.Jordie Barretts sock said:
If your MOT has expired you
cannot drive on the road because your insurance isn't valid.
Yes that's a good one.cannot drive on the road because your insurance isn't valid.
Another favourite, your car insurance is invalid if you have selected Social and Domestic use only
and while delivering a package from your work on your commute home you end up in a crash.

You actually can't. There's a vast range of stuff that's just not insurable, at any cost. Cannabis is legal in some countries and some states in America but you can't insure it in the London insurance market as cannabis is illegal here.

I brought it back home. I brought it back to life. I brought him good news. What's the problem?
"I brought a new car last weekend. I went to Tesco and brought a sandwich". And so on.

Used to do it all the time in my Caterhams. It's real, but only when you know what you're doing in a car that needs it.His theory was never tested with bystander surveys.
