what's a cankle contest?

How do proper fatties clean themselves after going to the toilet their bingo winged arms simply aren't long enough or bendy enough to get round the expansive circumfernce of their rotund bodies....this is a genuine question not "I say, I say, I say...'

I wondered if that's why you often seen proper fatties (that can still walk) in pairs or more so that then can help each other out.

Also fat fellas - did you get worried when you could no longer see your own nob without using two mirrors set at an angle?

Because they are fat.

I went to bed angry last night having watched the 'half tonn mom' programme, with American speeeeeling.

She said "I don't sit around eating all day, sometimes I have to force myself to eat because I haven't eaten for a while".

The "for a while" is obviously open to debate, 10 minutes, an hour, a day?

Her 'cook' and kids then explained how she would eat anything, and ate to comfort.

I think their biggest problem is admitting that they are overweight, I can't see how anyone can believe they are not overweight (even when BMI and doctors confirm they are obese), do they not have a mirror?

I loved that bit at the start where they showed the clip of the obese guy in the ambulance saying that: people need to recognise that it's a disease and it's not our fault ect...

It's not a fking disease. I mean surely when you get to the stage where you 25+ stone you must accept that YOU have a problem. It's no one else's fault. No one is forcing you to eat vast amounts of crap. Why should we feel any sympathy for these people. They have do this to themselves. It's fking pathetic!

According to PH, fat blokes aren't fat they have "rugby physiques" and any bird who is over a size 8 is considered a gastropod of unimaginable magnitude.

Weight is a measure of character.

This name calling has gone official now. Got a letter from my sons school a few weeks back advising us that they have evaluated my oldest son and he is obese. Letter laying it on thick about how he will suffer health problems, its all our fault for not feeding him properly and have we considered something other than mcdonalds burgers ? Cheeky fkers.

Just for the record he is 11 years old , tall and skinny , very muscular as he participates in cycling, karate, trampoline gymnastics and swimming. He eats fresh fruit and veg in large quantities every day and rarely has sweets.

Apparently the school were just following government guidelines. He is x high and y heavy therefore he is obese. No he's tall skinny and solid muscle actually. They agree with me the there is not an ounce of fat on him but still have him recorded as obese as thats what the rules say.

God bless the BMI! When I joined a new surgery last year I had to have a medical with the practice nurse (sadly not at all sexy!) who measured my height and weight - and despite having just been told that I train for a minimum of an hour every day told me I was overweight because of my BMI. It's a good 'indicator' for people who don't get much exercise, but if you're at all muscular then forget it.

My cousin is 5'11" and 17 stone at about 12% bodyfat - I'd love to see what his BMI is...

33.2, so he would be categorised as "obese".

The equation is simple, the issues around obesity much more complex. As with so many of today's social problems, poor education has a lot to do with it.
No, it's not complex. There is more nutritional information available today than therfe was 20 or even ten years ago.

Being fat seems like a badge of pride for some chavtastic reason - the British populance are becoming disgusting to look at - topless men with massive beer bellies waddling down the street, muffin tops spilling over too tight jeans - most high streets are repulsive places to be these days.

Sadly, self respect is something that departed the British Isles a decade or so ago.
I think this is more like the truth. Apologists say that fatties are victims of the cruel media, and burger chains, it's not their fault, and it becomes OK to be fat.
Once it become OK to be fat, people get fat, stay fat, and moan about being fat whilst doing nothing about it.

I used to be rather tubby for a kid, i have slimmed down myself to a less tubby shape, so i know what it's like to be fat, what it's like to actually lose weight, and i'm still inside Camp Lardass anyway, so it's not like i'm being all smug laughing at all the fat kids.

Giving fat people a hug, and saying, "it's OK, chubs, it's not your fault" is the reason why they stay fat.

Where do you get these weights from ? I am 6'2" and for donkeys years was 14 stone and skinny as a rake. 32" waist jeans etc.

Now I am a bit older and I look what I would call average. SO not really fat but up to a 34/36 waist and looking a bit chunkier. I now weight 16 and a bit stone.

I had a medical about 6 months ago, doc told me at my weight I was just above the median for my height so lose a couple of pounds and I would be bang on.

maybe I have heavy bones rolleyes

Im 5ft 7 ish and weight around 96kg, my aim is to get down to 70kg !

I started at 104kg.

I don't look really obese, it's just the belly that is annoying. I have pretty strong arms and legs but my knee is starting to hurt along with my back due to me playing cricket and rugby for the last 10 odd years.
