A good drink next Thursday will sort you out. I feared this month's DDs may have been a quiet one; looks like it'll a good'un after all!

Well, I missed the earlier post (and am a little intrigued)but I have dealt with many people who have committed (most by jumping, a couple by hosepipe into the car, couple of O/D's, one by petrol and a match, hangings, trains and one who swallowed DDT - that was fking awful), have tried to commit and were threatening to commit.

Threatening, IMO, is not done by someone looking to commit - they tend to just do it.

If someone posts threatening to commit and already hasn't, answers the 'Please don't, think of the dolphins' responses chances are they won't. That time.

There will be those that leave a last post as a suicide note.

I have never dealt with a 'Threatner' who went on to commit - I am sure some do, just I have not come across it.

I have been a long term "sufferer" of severe depression. I have tried to take my life once, I told no-one until I realised I didn't really want to die that minute, I still nearly did.

I have been battling the same dark thoughts a lot recently, I'm quite offensively ugly, jobless, never really did too well in the grand scheme of things and don't like the person I am. However it is not going to happen all the while my mum is alive, and hopefully not while my dad is alive. But right now the only thing to stop me a lot of the time is how my mother would cope with finding out and getting on with her life etc.


My point is that at no point have I been coming here and attention whoring about it. Granted I am now but it's not for sympathy, more to reinforce the message that someone attention whoring on here is generally not serious and were it to happen it would probably have been a cry for help more than a serious threat.

You aren't alone in battling bad thoughts. Keep finding people in your life that you want to live for. It works for me.

I won't go into what I deal with on here though.

Certainly not! I know a couple here that have their own little 'support group' by talking to each other when they get the bad thoughts about how and why, and 'could I do this, would it work'. Seems a bit sick at times, but it works to stop them.

Try to live for yourself, if you can't do that get a dog/cat. They love you for who you really are, no false agenda (apart from food but hey ) and make you feel better about yourself; which in turn makes you not have so many bad thoughts. Plus it is another responsibility to keep you on the planet
