but it's not the kids fault in essence, the parents need to get a grip. Though giving a child a slap (not a beating) is far from out of order at times.
We're getting to the point, ff it's the parents fault then why don't we give the parent a slap for being a terrible parent? Leave the kid alone.

Indeed. But having skinhead squaddies mouthing obscenties at little (in age!) kids is not going to help anyone.Who rattled your shopping trolley?

Because sometimes, just sometimes, the child can be an arse.Leave the kid alone.
I'm saying this as I've had a 2 year old go through what was, in essence, a month long tantrum where she was disciplined, removed from shops/rooms and smacked (where warranted) - she's far better now though and is a thorough joy and well behaved
However, this doesn't seem to be the case in the OP's original post and those children clearly were out of control.

oh yeah!
I've obviously touched a nerve by comparing him to FCK.

Do not equate disciplining children to beating them.
Do not equate a 'smack on the backside' to beating.I was on receiving end of a smack on the backside (always from my mother as it happens) as a child. I would never class myself as having been beaten as a child.

A smack to the legs or being kicked down the stairs.
There is a world of difference.

If they behave badly they'll get a smack. They'll learn.

I would define a beating as the child needing hospital treatment. Would i hit my own kids if i had any? No, but only because if i had any kids they would be a damn sight more well behaved than the average child in britain today, but if they were to step out of line, then a sharp smacking would be given to make sure they wouldnt do it again
havent you just contridicted yourself?Soovy said:

You believe in God too, I mean as well as hitting your own children (that you haven't had yet)?
This is brilliant!
My nephews (2 & 5) are both excellent little dudes - i have no doubt that this is down to a combo of "naughty step" & a smacked bum when they're being little sts.
At the fairford airshow the other week, the benefits brigade parked up next to me....Wayne & Waynetta didn't get out the car to watch anything, spent from 10am - 3pm eating & smoking constantly. The 3 brats were left to run about and anytime they got near their parents they were promptly told to "ps off" through a shower of scotch egg or pork pie....That's when swearing at kids isn't cool ;D
Although I did feel like shouting it at them myself, a lot.
