Turned up eventually. He's claiming he knew it was a scam all along. The evidence suggests otherwise but if it stops him from losing "face"... w/e... at least no one hurt
Now happy to be punting 10p a point on IG Index. That doomed as well but what can you do

So I had to send this email (more or less... slightly edited to remove personal things) today:
Time to break out my frankly hilarious desperate dad story. Email to moron said:
I won't get into a debate here, given my experience on Thursday. So take the advice or ignore it. But I'm right and I'm telling you this cause you're a nice guy, just dreadfully naive. You left your email logged on [a system I have access to] today and before I realised that I ended up accidentally reading a bit of your email. There's at least one person on a dating site (or something) that has contacted you and you've been in touch with. She's making the whole thing up. It's actually some bloke in nigeria who is there to steal your money. It's bullst. "She" doesn't exist.
Why oh why are people this thick? I actually want to punch the person I sent this to, it's the latest in a long line of things where I've had to rescue them from themselves... and they're not a relative or friend... it terrible... I need a hug...Ok, so my mum died and my dad went a bit loopy. That's not so funny. The bullst he fell for however, is.
I soon realised he was chatting to women online via MSN so I dumped his harddrive across the home network every few weeks to see what he was up to.
What I discovered was that he was getting stung on 2 accounts.
1) He was getting taken to the cleaners by a thai woman. He now lives with her, but at the time he was paying her car payments, errectricity bill (She spelled it like that in the messages), utilities and rent without ever actually meeting her.
This was all while he was getting into arrears on his mortgage that I then had to bail him out of.
2) He was getting conned by some nigerian woman who apparently needed money for an operation. She had told my dad that she'd sold her car, bed and even her fridge.
It didn't seem to click with my dad that usually you would sell your computer and webcam before you'd sell a fridge.
That was £500 he'd never see again.
He's off in thailand now and we don't talk. I don't expect to hear from him before his death and I've made that quite clear.
He's a fking moron of the highest calibre..

Basically 1 month after my mum died I noticed he was visiting Thai love sites and friendsreunited dating and all that bks. I put it down to grief and tried to not let it bother me.
If any of us talked about the money situation he'd just cry because my mum sorted that out.
Within 2 months he was talking to one thai bird regularly. We had a chat and he wouldn't have any of it.
Just said they were "pen pals".
He got a £40K life insurance pay out and didn't help out my sister with her £4k debt. Something my mum was planning to do before she died with the remortgage.
In the end my dad still got the remortgage but never paid off my sisters debt even though that's what mum would have wanted.
He then spunked £20K on a second hand Merc and quit his job.
He fell into arrears, tried to trick me into co signing a loan.
Gave me £50 on my birthday, then asked to borrow £1500 from me on the same day otherwise the house would be reposesed the following wednesday.
All through this 3 years he promised to buy my mum a headstone for her and never did. We're only now getting it put in after battling to try and get him to do it. We gave up in the end and it'll finally be there 3 years later.
He bought a house in thailand and put ours on the market without telling us.
He forged my mums will when we asked to look at it. He crossed out "I want to be cremated" in brio then forged my mums name as if that would fool us.
Me my brother or my sister never saw a penny from the sale of the house or the life insurance even though I'd found a first draft of her will in the loft that said next to the part that was written "I leave everything to my husband" it said "What about the children?" in handwritting. I'm not too bitter about this but it's pretty obvious to me that him and my mum had an understanding that things would be split equally.
She didn't expect to die though so I doubt much discussion went into it. The handwritten scrawl shows intent though.
Also, just before he had the cheek to ask to borrow money from me (Which I lent him in the end) he claimed that I owed him £6000 in rent from pretty much the week my mum died. I'd been a student most of that time and had only started working for about 1 month.
He's a sthead. Trust me.
He's the one that fked off to thailand, not us. I'm better off without him and I wont be shedding a tear when he dies.
The only use he has is to show me what I should never ever become and how not to act towards my children.

Technically he's right. Put 1kg of feathers in a sphere, and 1kg of bricks in a sphere.
Think about the implications of that (hint:feathers sphere will be bigger)
Edit: P.S. Have a vid of the subject of this thread trying to make a phone call which I put on youtube yesterday to show some people. Should I link it?
