OT What was that clip about the walt dealing with this person, kept calling them the casuality?
Seem to recall that was Surrey 4x4 Rescue Rangers “supporting” a sponsored walk or something.
IIRC the “casualty” had a bit of a blister or something equally life threatening.

They really don’t do themselves any favours.
But they provide so much amusement to us "ordinary " members of the public.

You're right, they definitely existed but I'm too old to know if they are still around. I suppose the original roadie walts would all be dead now and any current versions toured with Nirvana or Guns n Roses.

Your post made me think of another variety which is the 'connected' Walt. They are/were mates with Pablo Escobar/Kenny Noye/some mafia Don.
I have a family member who was a roadie/guitar tech and genuinely did tour with Nirvana.

The ultimate Walt dilemma.

The park is in lock down yet somehow a civilian is inside , do you let them out ?

I think so.

Civilians have no place in the theatre of operations.

It's a simple "Code Lemon Yellow"...

Radio for backup and additional hi-viz for civilian exfil.
Question the "Tango's" to identify the source of the perimeter breach
Once questioning has been completed and the civilians can be moved to the safe zone, 1 tactical mobility platform (walted-up Frontera) to be brought in for escort duties
Plus 1 tactical mobility platform to provide overwatch
Maintain 30 foot perimeter from all hazards at all times during exfil
Once successful extraction has been achieved request additional signage, hi-viz, and weak lemon squash.

The Roadie is a good shout.

The ageing 50-something with scruffy black jeans, cheap costume jewellery all over their fingers, and an ‘Iron Maiden - Donnington Park - 1988’ T Shirt.

Their personal life is never mentioned apart from a vague reference to ‘so many women on tour’ but you get the distinct impression they still live with their mum in a terraced house.

Always has a seemingly absolutely encyclopedic knowledge of ‘Marshall amps’ but makes excuses and goes ‘outside for a smoke’ when someone who actually plays the guitar asks them something technical.
Oh yes! There was definitely a chap like this in a pub (long closed) that I drank in as a younger man. Would often see him in HMV as well with the same outfit on, black Iron Maiden or Metallica tour t-shirt on, black leather jacket, black boots, black combat trousers, black baseball or stetson-esque hat on (I can't remember which)

Chain smoking but overweight, definitely mentioned having been around Europe with various bands in various tour buses but the real times were definitely when it was just him and the band in a van "before they made it" or worse "before they sold out and stopped making real music"

I'd try not to sit too close to him but on a quiet afternoon you'd hear him telling some unsuspecting punter all of this.

Ah but think of the opportunities.....
Now’s that golden opportunity to squawk phrases like “Take-down”, “Containment” and “Detainee” over the ‘net. Tango dingo bongo papa smurf.

Charlie Fox Kilo, listening, out.

Anyone with the faintest clue about door work and scurrrriteee knows that the best defence is to avoid conflict/escalation.
Stage 1 of that means not dressing like a missing member of Bravo Two Zero.

Hard to tell exactly from that but is that not one of those "thin blue line" badges that are available, I know a couple of my police mates have bought them, the money goes to charity to help the family of those killed in the line of duty?

Can’t see a hint of any blue on that, just tactical grey and special forces black.
I’m assuming said Walt thinks it gives him an air of authority, what with real police officers often wearing the same.
