How do you steer with a flat battery? How do you push a 'dead' car I to a garage, or something, without steering?

As I understand it there is a still a physical steering column that is disconnected via a clutch and if it all goes tits up the clutch engages to give you control.

An actual bad beat would require somebody to be ahead 98% to 2% and then they both go all in just before the river. Then the 2% to take the win even though he played the hand completely wrong and mis-read his opponent.

Well it solves some of the problems with stability control/abs where the nut holding the wheel is working against the system. If the car is smart enough to do so it can use the steering as well as the brakes and throttle to avoid collisions and regain control.
