You're damn right.

Okay, so just before lunch a had a snoop around the area I believed she worked in. It took no longer than 5 mins to find her office. It was empty... So I thought "oh well. I tried".

Went down to the staff restaurant to grab something to eat. When I her sat at a table. At first I hesitated then thought "sod it. Let's get this done and over with".

I took a seat at her table and said afternoon. She smiled and asked whether I worked with so and so. At this point I'm thinking great. Step one accomplished.

we're talking about work for a few mins now. So I decide to drill for more information about her. By asking how her weekend was.....

"It was fine thanks. Just spent it with the kids..." I kept calm.... Just hoping she was divorced. I mean why else would there be no ring on her finger... Anyway I left it at that.

Good news - she asked if I planned on heading to the local bar after work on friday. So I guess I'll get a proper chance to interrogate gate her then!

Feeling a lot better now..... I guess
It was going great till the 'good news' line - sorry mate, fail fail fail, been reading too much Jackie Collins (RIP). Trolltastic whilst it lasted though! clap

Positive steps, but not the big one.

You should have offered to take her to a different bar on Friday night <sigh>

do you know that she is actually single?
Is she senior/junior to you- anything that might cause problems

Do you have any joint friends/colleagues that you could engineer drinks after work with and just try and get chatting to her?

Accidentally bump into her making drinks or something and just make her laugh and get to know her a little bit- she how she responds and go from there. Make up a work related question
I'd say we're of the same level. Just that we work in completely different depts.

I know of one person (who is also rather hot) who has gotten to know her. I told this person I thought they were hot. She then started speaking with her during a recent drinking session. Turns out she's really nice. No idea if she has another half.

Anyway, she herself gave me her approval. However, I'm just to pussy to do it lol
going back a lot of pages. you do realise your friend has already told this woman you fancy her? you've chatted, you'll chat more on friday. assuming you dont fk that up then you're free and clear to ask her out. that is, if the kids thing and the thought of her wizard's sleeve don't put you off.

Damn, beaten to it!!

On a serious note im in exactly the same boat, and I do understand OPs issue with workplace laws and regs these days..... I cant see in my mind asking someone out for dinner is a problem, I would hope most would be flattered even if married, but have seen people get a proper shoeing for not much these days.......

Seriously mate, just do it. I had a similar situation to yours.

Attractive older woman at work, she'd gone through a pretty stty time with her other half and was separating from him.

I agonised about it for weeks,as I'm absolutely crap at chatting up women. I eventually realised that everyone had worked out I fancied her, and work are OK with relationships as long as you don't work on the same team and are professional, so I thought fk it and took the plunge.

We had an absolute riot and although it fizzled out after a couple of months and she is now in a long-term relationship, I can say it's one of the best things I've ever done. smile

Only problem is, I now have to go through the whole process again as there's a lovely blonde just started who I've got my eye on. Wish me luck biggrin

I remember being in this situation and finally we talked and managed to go back to her place for tea.

We had zero in common and by the end of the evening it was quite obvious that it was all going nowhere. Made the next few months rather stinted as before we used to laugh and joke with each other.

Wait for half an excuse, and bring Samosa's into work (e.g. I don't know... Your birthday would be ideal, but that could be a long wait.... try to think of something) - and just casually walk over to her area and say that there are samosa's if anyone wants one... then wait around the samosa's and she might strike up a convo when she comes to get one
You'll be balls deep if she's a fan of the spurious apostrophe too!

This. Her asking you if you were going to the pub on Friday was a clear signal. You need to go to this night out KNOWING that she wants you to ask her out. Don't drink too much, don't avoid her so you don't seem too keen, don't be too clingy and desperate and don't talk too much. Ask questions, listen to her answers, then ask more. It's remarkably easy once you get over the initial hurdle.

If you get it in your head that you already know she's interested, you'll come across as much more confident (which most girls like) and you'll feel less anxious around her.

Then once you've bust her back doors in, take some custard photos and post them up here for us. wink

Jesus, that sounds far too much like hard work and is bordering on the needy. If she's into you then let her put the legwork in. If she can't be arsed then why should you?

21st century equality? Right.

I have been trying this for a while now, it doesn't work! Though a fit blonde girl looked at me earlier, she obviously wants me!

Good on you OP! First step done, talking to her next time will be easy.

Lol

Upon closer inspection. You can see its clearly been used. On the plus side you can also notice that it has been well serviced / looked after.

Yes, the overall bodywork has aged nicely... Much like Aston's Vantage

When you meet her in the pub you should look her up and down and then say EXACTLY those words to her.

I promise she'll love it.
