That really makes no sense at all. I just dont see how anyone can spend time at sea and not notice the whole horizon thing going on!
Clearly, the FE was just making it up, to try to bolster his argument. When you have to do that, you've lost the war.

Yesterday's share was a lovely lady who is telling people just how NASA is faking the solar mission this week. It didn't happen it was just a launch to the top of the "firmament" according to one of her commentors. They also have proof no one has ever been to the moon.
They are very deluded that's all you can say.

I've never been to the moon either but I can't prove it.

I think it's safe to say that rocket took off last week though and wasn't brought back down "because nothing can escape the dome over us"...

I don't know if this is relevant but when I go for a swim, I could swear that is harder to swim "uphill" to the far end of the pool than it is to swim "downhill" back to the end with the steps.

Or is it just another thing like my enduring difficulty to comprehend why a charged mobile phone doesn't feel heavier than one with an empty battery?

Water is deeper at the deep end (duh!) and so normally it would decrease in volume because the pressure's greater but water is incompressible so instead its viscosity increases and it's more difficult to swim through viscose water. Also there's more water in the deep end and so a greater gravitational attraction and warping of space-time as predicted by Heisenstein, and who are we to argue with Heisenstein?

Also with the phone E=mc2 and so as the phone's energy goes up the mass goes down to compensate to keep the equation balanced but the added mass because of the energy cancels out this decrease in mass. Heisenstein again!
