Holy st! Torrential downpour in Northampton about 20 minutes ago - All gutters filled up and overflowed, thought my house was gonna be flooded, it was literally an inch from my front door!

A45 is like a lake too:

Similar type of storm now over Aylesbury. Just a pretty constant rumble and lots of flashes. No rain yet.

Watching another immense lightning show flashing to the north west of London from Wimbledon - constant forks across the sky. Unreal

Looks like we are in for good one in Aylesbury then. Though this one looks like it has come from Aston Clinton way. Looking at netweather though suggests MK.

I keep seeing lightning jumping between the same two clouds. Most of this seems to be cloud to cloud rather than cloud to ground. I wonder if that is why it is so quiet?

And it's just suddenly stopped. Still raining but no lightning now.

Epic lightening over Thame for the last hour. Now a bit of rain and the lightening has suddenly stopped. Great almost tropical weather we're enjoying at the mo.
