Is it a fly vice?

Or something that clamps to a table and on the end of the pole you put something you need to work on but frees both hands? Soldering etc?
Freezing cold sir!

OK, one's used in making a part, the other's used to attach a part (not the same part though, although both parts go on the same thing).

As clues go that’s not even close! This is annoying me more than it should.

Here's a better one, then: it might help if you now something about violins.

Black part looks like something to hold down the strings _ to adjust the tune or similar

Latest wee package arrived this morning.

Some stick on cable tie things that i'll use to run cables for my new sound system in the dining room. Completely forgot.

Decided to have a look at my orders and i'm still waiting on:

- lock pick kit
- Infrared thermometer gun thingy
- yet another torch
- REALLY tacky 7 series keyring that is literally just a "7" on a chain.

They must lose a fair bit too. For the things i've received and they are too st to use or not what i expected i've simply gone into the support section, uploaded a photo and they refund me instantly, every single time. i reckon if you have the morals then you could do all of your tat shopping for an eventual zero cost.
have been thinking of getting one myself, which one have you ordered?

Thanks - I'll give one a go. I have one specific requirement, to measure the actual temp an engine is running at, so I'm hoping that pointing one of these at the thermostat housing will give me the answer. Assuming of course that it's even halfway accurate!

Indeed. I guess the way of 'calibrating' one of these things is to boil a kettle. I know it won't be exactly 100deg c but if it's somewhere close and not tens of degrees out then i guess you could at least use it as a reference benchmark.

This mornings mail!
Absolutely bought an owl that holds keys and his eyes open and close. Absolute tat. LOVE it.

My kids would love that. Unfortunately my kids are 7 and 4 and don't have their own keys (apart from the one time my youngest stole the keys to the primary school and hid them in her pocket over the course of a weekend...)

They made me smile this morning when I took out the keys. This is the frivolous thread, buy them anyway and then find a use for them! Hook a pen on them or something biggrin

My eldest once vanished a full set of keys on holiday. Had to hire a locksmith to get back in the house. Children. Wonderful, expensive, probably frivolous creatures biggrin
